Y’all sure this is the City?

Some more glimpses of life in and around San Francisco. If you live here, maybe I’ll remind you what a righteous place this is and how lucky we are. Should you not happen to not live here and would like to come for a visit someday, these will be the places you’d really want to see. Not Fisherman’s Wharf (Fisherman’s Wharf is what Times Square is to New York City – get it?). Today it’s the Fort Mason Community Garden. It sits smack in the middle of the City, well, actually on the north end of the City, smack on the edge of the bay. We come here a lot. It used to be an Army post and there are abandoned canons strewn about the grounds, hiding in secret spots. It is the gosh darn truth that not a single canon was ever fired. Not once. Nice, huh? Good for them. Fort Mason has reinvented itself into a community haven – a dog park, an educational center for art classes, pottery, photography, Italian and even contains the amazing vegetarian restaurant Green’s. Now, those are some good veggies. And then there’s this garden. There are currently about 150 residents on the wait list to join, and you can read more about its history here, but for now I’m just going to innundate you with the purty pix I took there today on my walk with Coop. This is one of the reasons I live here. Because something like this, sits in the middle of the big city, right down the hill from my place. If you look closely, you’ll see the City buildings looming in the background. And just how cool is that?
