Friends & Neighbors: Saint Verde Digest.

Move over bloggers (including me!), there’s a new blog in town! And it’s so inspiring! I’ve become Neville Trickett’s newest and biggest fan, as you may have noticed from this post on his still life photos, and then my recent Unexpected Guests tour of his beautiful South African home last week. And now I’ve been perusing his latest project, his new blog Saint Verde Digest, which is just so stylish and done with such great taste.

Neville has a post up this week of some my favorite artists, one, a long-time obsession of mine, photographer Loretta Lux, and two wonderful painters, Elizabeth Peyton and Mark Ryden. I’ve never thought of their work in the same context before, but now Neville has put them together in one amazing post, The Age of Innocence, and I now see the similarities and a common thread immediately. Check out more absolute wonderfulness from Neville at Saint Verde Digest.

Time for Twig Deals.

One of my favorite shops, and lovely sponsors, Twig, has been gracious enough to offer the sfgirlbybay readers a 20% discount in the Twig online shop. It’s the perfect time to get something new and pretty for Spring! Take a look at some of the cute homewares and accessories Twig has to offer. Plus, there are some incredible deals on Fall clothing and shoes. Readers can use the code SPRING at checkout. Thanks Twig!

Take Me To My Happy Place.

That’s pretty much what these pieces do for me! I feel so happy looking at these new pieces in Ninainvorm’s etsy shop! Besides Nina’s beautiful vintage ‘redecorated’ ceramics: beautiful vintage items that she applied her handmade screenprints to, she recently started working on some screen-prints as well, and thought I’d share a bit of that with you too. Nina is from the Netherlands, and I find her artwork to have that fresh, clean and bright Scandinavian feeling I’m so often drawn to. For more work from Nina visit her etsy shop and her blog, Ninainvorm.

Ode to My Deco: Modern Love.

I think this may be round fifteen of my Ode to My Deco Files, and the Domino’a Deco Files are still hanging in there! Whew, and that’s a great thing because there’s still so much goodness to gather before the end of Domino’s days. It still bums me out, but here’s something to cheer us all up – some modern love. Some rather eclectic, very vintage-inspired modern love. Rooms that really are a mixture of modern and vintage with a funky, fun edge. My favorite kind! A mixture of fantastic periods pieces, stylish accessories, unusual lighting fixtures and bright colors, all tied up in one bohemian, kind of glamorous hippie-chic. Here’s a look at the latest inspiration I discovered in Domino’s My Deco Files.
