Vintage Poetry.

I was so inspired by the photographs I saw on flickr belonging to Grace of the wonderful blog Poetic Home, that I invited her to join us for an Unexpected Guests house tour. Alas, Grace is in the middle of a big move  – island hopping all the way to Maui, so a tour is a wee bit inconvenient at this time. But perhaps we’ll visit her in Hawaii soon! In the meantime, she did however invite me to share some photographs of the lovely vintage-inspired home decor ideas she’s got posted, so I jumped at the chance! Grace does an amazing job of re-purposing old vintage treasures, sells many of them, including some amazing old typewriters all in perfect working condition, in her Etsy shop, Poetic Home, so if you see something that grabs your attention, check out her shop. Here’s some of Grace’s vintage-inspired home decor ideas to get you inspired. Thanks Grace, and best wishes with the move (and the wee one on the way)! Aloha!

This idea I found particularly touching and inspiring – the wedding anniversary gift from Grace’s husband that keeps on giving….a ‘catalog of love‘ – all their chapters together (thus far!) cherished in a vintage recipe box. Grace hopes that when they are old, they will have filled the box with cards of life’s memories and milestones together. For more details on how to create the custom catalog cards, visit Grace’s post on Poetic Home.

I adore her idea of Catalog of love. We will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary next fall. It inspired me to start our own memorabilia.
