random acts of kindness.

for the next week, July 16 – 23, etsy artist jill dryer is donating 100% of her sales proceeds to a single mother in Chicago with 5 children who really needs a lift. There is much to the story, but jill explains that the woman is unable to work anymore (due to a severe illness which also resulted in the loss of her job of many years – driving a CTA bus) and she’s doing her best to keep food on the table for her children. And, in addition to raising her own kids, as well someone else’s since they had nowhere else to go. such a lovely gesture…jill just wanted to try and give hope to someone who could really use it. to see jill’s beautiful artwork, and to help a woman in need, visit jill dryer’s etsy shop, and pick up some lovely art!

that’s awesome – and her work is amazing!
This is brilliant! So kind of her. I really like the Eames chair. Maybe I’ll have that one.
Thanks so much for the support!! I am so grateful to be able to do something like this for someone else…since so many cool people have helped me along the way in life. :)
Awww, she’s sweet! I like her work and she has such a kind heart… let’s keep the random acts going! Besides, my walls are looking rather bleak! Nice of you to pass this infectious kindness too!
what a lovely deed. If I wasn’t unemployed myself at the moment…
You just don’t hear lovely stories like that much. What an amazing gesture.

Such a sweet and kind gesture — one that is certainly needed to inspire others in this crazy economy we are living in. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I love her art – and now I have such a wonderful excuse to buy a piece. This is the true power of a great blog such as yours: disseminating information, helping people in need, and celebrating good art at the same time! :)
