time out with erin: how well do you fair?
With only a few more weeks of light and bright summertime (OMG have I really become that pessimistic?), us Midwesterners are taking advantage of the weather now more than ever. Take a cue from Elsa Mora’s gals and start your own art fair.

What You Need:
• Potential Customers, A Card Table [or not], and Two Chairs [if you're lazy].
• Paper, Markers, Pencils, etc.
• A Healthy Sense of Humor
Start drawing, and they will come. Sell your doodles for $1 each, or perhaps a dime if you’re not uber-talented in that department [which would be me!]. Art not your thing? Try a photography “fair”, or even a face-painting booth. You may be slapped with a few trespassing threats, but you’re sure to have a fun day and meet some interesting people.
And who knows? Perhaps you’ll be discovered by a world-famous curator and next thing you know, the Smithsonian is on your speed dial. Just a thought.
[ Time Out is brought to you each Wednesday with contagious enthusiasm from Erin Loechner, Editor @ Design for Mankind. Be good. ]
