this week’s flickr curator is none other than the highly admired michael sullivan of Newport, Wales, UK, or as he’s better known around flickr, buttonmooon. michael is a a graphic designer by day … and “a lot of other things by night, but not Batman or a Power Ranger unfortunately.” so he’s funny, too, as well as being a talented photographer! i always enjoy seeing michael’s new images and am constantly inspired by his work. for more about michael, check out his blog, buttonmooon, bits & bobs, as well as his flickr photostream to view some of his own fantastic photographs. but first, here’s his beautifully curated set.

here’s a few thoughtful words from michael about his flickr set: “This selection of favourites accumulated last week… life was being particularly hectic, but when I squeezed in my much needed flickr time, I guess my mind was wandering around thoughts of calm and exploration. I’m generally drawn to images that look enchanting and unusual, but also those that seem as if they were taken in the past. I used to be more interested in modern gadgets and buildings, but it’s the antiques and eerie ruins that draw me in now…along with images captured using old technology! A combination of both these things can convey a great sense of warmth and history to me.

For me, gazing through some of those amazing photos on flickr, can take me to another place. They not only inspire
me to view the world around me differently, but also the way I document it.”
