well known and talented illustrator and artist leigh wells has a brand new endeavor going on, and if you’ve got a special event coming up, you’re going to want to know about ink•wells! leigh has started a custom calligraphy and lettering business called ink•wells, for weddings, showers, parties — pretty much anything special you need penned, she’s your go-to-girl. These styles, done with an old fashioned dip pen, can be done in a variety of ink colors, or can be matched to your wedding colors with a custom mixed opaque gouache, including metallics. here’s just a small sampling of some of the lovely work from ink•wells.

Bonding Experience @ Rare Device.
Rare Device is one of my favorite stores and galleries in San Francisco, that features functional experiments and original ideas in art, design, craft and fabrication. Owners Rena Tom and Lisa Congdon constantly seek out objects that are beautiful, evocative, well constructed and thoughtful. And this week Rare Device is excited to share with you a new show: Binding Constant: New Work by Diem Chau, Marina Luz and Lisa Solomon. The work will appear in the Rare Device gallery from October 2 – November 1, with an opening party this Friday, October 2nd.
A reception for the artists will be held at Rare Device Friday, October 2 from 7 – 9 pm, with all three artists present for the opening. In Binding Constant artists Diem Chau, Marina Luz and Lisa Solomon explore the visible and invisible bonds we share based on relationship or causal connection. Hope to see you there!

i’ve recently discovered this online home furnishings and accessories shop, JAYSON HOME & GARDEN, based out of chicago, that has some really, really great pieces and most are quite affordable. some of jayson’s pieces are more collectibles, so some have higher price tags, but they’ve got a wonderful line of modern sofas at quite reasonable prices (and some are currently on sale!), as well! and a whole line of unusual antique and vintage wares. i just wanted to share some of the unique, personal favorites i found at jayson home & garden.
