blissful inspiration
Brace yourself friends — this is a lengthy one. For those of you who don’t know me, I have a thing for taking pictures. I especially love taking pictures of pretty bowls full of pretty things. I am also drawn to photographs of bowls taken by others. To me, it is sweet that something so simple can be so beautiful. Which is particularly important to a photographer like me; I believe, that often times my greatest hurdle is over thinking — a lovely bowl and a camera is all one needs to create a masterpiece.

I hope this post inspires you to do just that — grab a camera (preferably your own), a bowl, something interesting and snap away. Link to your bowl shots, I would love to see what you come up with. Until next week — xo mrs. french

me too! sigh. i could look at lovely bowls of lovelies all day. i am officially inspired.
i love getting fresh food from the farmers market and shooting it in simplicity on my kitchen table. (it helps having wonderful afternoon window lighting) Some yellow plums I shot for a blog of the non-profit i work for: http://ohioeatwiththeseason.blogspot.com/2009/08/yellow-plum.html
I love bowls too. I also love Thai and Balinese flower bowls that they put infront of their doors, full of different Frangipanies. I posted one of them on my blog http://fensismensi.blog.siol.net/files/2009/06/img_4799.jpg
I just couldn’t have enough of them and I made about hundret photos :)
and my bowl heaven http://cannelle-vanille.blogspot.com/ :)
I am a big “bowl-lover” too!
I love them empty, I love them filled, I love them dirty, and love them clean, too.
…and chairs.
wonderful colours – pass the raspberries
You are always a great inspiration! I just started photography classes this week partially due to your inspirational photos! Thank you! These are beautiful! I have a ways to go!
I took some photos of homemade mayonnaise yesterday- it was so beautiful! What an amazing color of olivey yellow. But nothing can compete with a bowl full of flowers floating in water.
So incredibly beautiful……I love them all!

I adore the first one! It’s so barren…yet so bright! I just realized I have the same Polaroid you have featured in your header. :)
This reaffirms the truth behind designs. The best inspirations usually come from things right beside us.
Here’s a bowl shot I took earlier this summer. I have the flu or I’d take a new bowl picture for you.

I confess – I have a bit of a bowl fetish myself. Marvelous images! Than you for sharing them with us.
While I have lots of decorative bowls in my house, it never dawned on me to photograph them. This one I grabbed after reading this post:

Truly inspiring!
Absolutely beautiful pictures. They are inspiring and motivating for me to pick up my camera and try to create the same simple but gorgeous settings.
I’m honored to be in with likes of these awesome photographers, thank you :) Many of them continue to inspire me!
I have a favorite wooden bowl that I think I photograph too often – can one have too many wooden bowl photographs though? :)
Thanks again, Cosi!

Your post was so inspiring that I started visiting all the bowls in my home. Started with my favorite, the map bowl. http://kimtb.wordpress.com/2009/09/13/bowled-over/
