dine-one-one.

i’m in that crazy, mad mode again where i am bored to tears with my current decor. i even went looking for new apartments all weekend just to drastically change things up. alas, there’s still not a whole lot out there in the housing market here in san francisco, so i may have to succumb to my old tricks, and yes, re-decorate yet again. and, i needed some inspiration!

i’ve been waiting some kind of white, sort of brit pop theme going on, so starting with the dining area, I would love to paint my antique (family heirloom) dining room table white, if i didn’t think mummy would drive straight up from los angeles and put me in some kind of strangle hold. but she may just have to. because, dear readers, i am bored!! i’ve got the knoll saarinen knock off chairs – i just need a new look for the table. i looked around living etc. magazine’s gallery to try and find some inspiration, and there was plenty. here’s a look-see from living etc. magazine. now, if i could just get those white floors, too!

so light, airy, and refreshing!!!
I like all of these, especially the last one with the hanging garland. I would just go for it and paint your dining table white.
Perfect, perfect, perfect. I love the title. This post is defintely getting the CTRL + D. Into the favorites folder it goes!
wood surrounded by lots of white is lovely. let’s make some WHITE stuff for your place. STRIP everything and go for a minimal thing like above. However, I think the boredom pathology may slip in even sooner if there is not all of that colorful eye candy around that you are so good at.
glad you like these, guys!
and yes, miss leigh – i need to make some new accessories at le STITCH! i may be ripping the place apart today if i get enough coffee in me! :)
I hear you

great minds think alike :)
Vanya – wow – that’s kinda scary. We’re separated at birth!! ;)
One tulip table – so many ways! I love the inspirations you have selected … the benches by the tables are a fantastic seating option.
living etc is the only home mag i get regularly… my mother-in-law renews it every year for my birthday, it’s my favorite gift. the pages and homes always inspire and i love the white issue that comes out in May…
i painted our old wood farmhouse table several years back, bright gloss white and i love it. i don’t however love the newspaper print and other such stuff that seems to appear all the time on it, but it’s bright, fresh and even with the marks upon it, looks good.
i say go for it Victoria!!!
oh i love all of these!
SO fresh and dreamy.
I particularly like the first and second ones and the fourth last one :)
tif – what a nice gift! the gift that keeps on giving! i’m going to ask santa for that!
and may be getting the white paint out soon!!
thanks for the input everyone!
I am in the SAME boat over here. The beige walls and carpeting in our apartment are killing me! (My boyfriend would definitely call that dramatic, but really!!)
I love that last one with the bunting. Bunting makes everything a little bit better, I think :)
These are so relaxing — perfect for leisurely meals =)
