Friday Food files with Molly Watson:
My favorite centerpiece this time of year is a bowl full of pears. A pile of pears look fabulous by themselves, but a mix of different varieties (especially if some are the rusty red Red Anjou) is tempting too.

The great thing about stocking up on some fresh pears at the farmers market, is then, even if I’m too lazy to peel and chop them for this scrumptious Asian Pear Crisp or this Rosemary Lemon Pear Crisp, I still have dessert – I break up a bar of chocolate (no house should be without a decent bar of chocolate in the cupboard at all times), put it on the table, and invite my guests to help themselves to the centerpiece.
