october is open studios time!

sfopenstudios2009

if you’re around the bay area at all this month, you may have already realized it’s open studios time and there are tons of local artists sharing their beautiful work all over the city, in their own studio environments. artspan is a great source for scoping out the artists participating, and mapping out your quest for viewing great art.

The goal of ArtSpan’s SF Open Studios is twofold: To allow local emerging and established artists the opportunity to open their studio doors and show their artwork in their own studios, providing the art-loving public with the opportunity to enjoy art at its origin and to start a dialogue directly with the artists that may lead to the start of their own art collection.

I apologize profusely for getting this up so late in the month (it’s been a little slice of hell around here lately), but here’s what’s coming up the next couple of weekends. The city of San Francisco is broken up geographically, allowing each weekend to feature artists’ studios in a different part of the city. Start your self-guided art tour and hit the pavement with the SF Open Studios Guide. Search the Online Guide by entering an artist’s name, location, weekend, medium or style of artwork in the links below and get inspired seeing some great new art:
