This week’s [talking pictures] comes all the way from susannah conway, a bath, england-based photographer. as well as being a superb photographer, susannah teaches online e-courses designed to help you heal the way you see your self and your world, using photography and journaling to access hidden thoughts and dreams, encouraging personal realisations and ultimately acceptance. Susannah also writes the blog, ink on my fingers, and you can see more of susannah’s beautiful photographs on her flickr photostream, as well.

here’s the lovely story behind
susannah’s [talking picture]: “This photograph combines three of my most favourite things: my sister, the ocean and lo-fi photography. My sister and I had driven to the south coast to visit our mother, and as we always do, we spent an afternoon at the beach. This is the place we grew up: sand in our cucumber sandwiches, sun-burnt shoulders and dogs chasing us along the shore. This is where we made hundreds of memories, and this is the place we return to as often as we can. Next year I’ll become an aunty for the first time, and i know my sister and I will bring my niece or nephew to this beach, and we’ll make new family memories together.”
Oh Victoria you hit me with this one, these are two things I miss: my sister (she’s thousands of miles away) and the ocean.
Love the skirt!
beautiful!
Ooooh! Talking pictures….what an interesting concept!
I stumbled over from Susannah’s FB status message :D
so lovely!
Absolutely gorgeous and I love the concept. (I live in Oxford and am going to Bath for the first time on the 10th of November – I can’t wait!)
There’s a gorgeous spa in Bath – you sit on the roof in the ancient thermal waters and stare at the rooftops. Lovely. Or you can visit the old Roman bath just outside, and hire it with your mates for a little party.
