Just Down a South London Road.

1m

i’m feeling a bit under the weather with a nasty head cold, which has gotten me drinking loads of tea, which in turn got me thinking about england. so i checked in for a visit at one of my favorite photo shoot location sites, beach studios, in the U.K. to see what i knew would be some pretty spots to cheer me up.

2m

i discovered this location, marmora road, and oh what a lovely spot it would be to curl up with warm bit of tea under a cozy comforter, light a fire and read a good book. i love the mix of all that crisp white, colorful fabrics, along with the traditional antiques and vintage-modern pieces. superb! have a look at a very pretty south london home with loads of inspiration, marmora road. i vow to you now, one day i will have those bloody wonderful white wood floors! you’ll see!

If there’s one thing I can’t resists, than it’s the European flair.

This was an outstanding post! It’s like Tricia Guild plopped seamlessly into a Jane Austen movie. But then look at all those Ikea pieces! Genius!

Very, very pretty. My flat is the same period as this house. But I am a proud north Londoner. :) I could cry at how much more prettily finished that place is.

How funny! Marmora Road is in East Dulwich (South East London) where I live. The houses there are big and gorgeous (although I suspect not all of them are as gorgeous as this inside.)

How do they get those floors so *shiny*? I know there must be some type of topcoat, but what would it be that makes it shine without yellowing? Would love to know!

thicket dweller, in the uk they are still able to use oil based paints which give a very shiny hard surface. here in the u.s. companies like schreuder or fine paints of europe sell the oil paint but in most places you are limited by law to buying 1 quart only at a time. you might be able to get a similar finish with marine varnish.
