vintage finds for a modern world: paper clips, you say?

yes, paper clips! you may consider them to be a bit more of a modern technology, but these gorgeous, industrial looking chandeliers from etsy shop ReDesign Technologies Environmental Art and Design are very vintage-looking. and, made from just simple, metal paper clips! i am so impressed with this ingenuity and re-purposing of a simple household item, and love the reflections they provide. redesign even sells a down-loadable DIY PDF tutorial to make your very own chandelier. A wiring kit complete with 10′ cord with plug, socket and 60 watt Satco half mirror bulb is included in all orders.

ReDesign Technologies Environmental Art and Design is owned and operated by Penelope Bridge, and you can visit her new blog for sneak peeks into the design process and other info. Penelope also has a vintage lighting collection which resides in her sister etsy shop, birch beer boutique.

Impressive! Like knitting with metal.
Simply amazing! Thanks for all the cool things you share.
These are fantastic — they cast the most interesting shadows. And they so get extra props for having a DIY tutorial.
Lovely! There is a found art display on Addison in Berkeley right now and it’s got a really cool chandelier made of salt shakers. The ones pictured here are more elegant, though.
I absolutely cannot believe these are made of paper clips! Stunning!
Wow, these are great! I recently posted a recycled lamp made from an old egg basket. These are very similar! Thanks for sharing!
