wow, apple’s new iPad got brutalized on twitter yesterday (and, i imagine many other places). let’s face it, it’s probably a decent product, but it’s a pretty lame name, and concocts some rather unpleasant visual images. alas, i still love my iphone! and i just discovered this new site, uncommon, where you can find ipod covers created by some of our favorite artists. and, there’s even a haiti relief collection.

uncommon makes customizable mobile phone cases, bringing together talented artists and self-expression, and uncommon artists are not only showcased on their site, but also have the opportunity to earn income through sales of their artwork. uncommon’s vision is to create a brand that supports artists and exposes the public to their artwork. cool, unlike the name ipad.

    oh!these uncommon ipod cases are irresistible…and may be what sways a blackberry girl like me over to the snazzy iphone :)

    Just bought one customized with one of my images. It arrived yesterday, and I love it like crazy — and at a reasonable price, too! Strongly recommend.

    Incidentally, lovely meeting you at ALT, if only for a brief second. :)

    These are fantastic!

    It’s not the name that bugs me about the ipad. It just seems like a too-large ipod.

    Worst name ever!!!! looks like it’s a pretty nifty product though. I really don’t have a need for one. I have a macbook, and an iphone. Besides I just can’t get over the name. Can you imagine asking someone to hand you your ipad?

    Ha, ha! I totally agree about the iPad name…they might as well have named it Maxi-Pod. Either way though, I’m hoping for an iPhone for my next birthday too, and I’ll definitely keep these cases in mind! Thanks!
