vintage finds for a modern world: have a seat.

as you may have come to realize, it’s true. i am a chair addict. do they have groups for this? yes indeed they do. but, why would i want to recover? unless of course you mean re-cover, as in reupholster. i just adore the shapes, the sizes, the absolute creativity some designers have put into their vintage-inspired chairs. especially mid-century modern designs. they’re not simply places to sit, oh no. they are shrines, to the mighty beauty that is ‘take a load off’ and have a seat. i love vintage chairs! and i am proud!

These are all perfect. The ones via plainjane are my fave. So simple and yet oh-so-perfect! Perfect for sitting and sipping from one of the many bottles of vino in the filip001 image! Swooney swoon.

What a great collection of photos! They all make me sad that I never figured out how to steal–sorry, buy– one or more of the fabulous Eames fiberglass chairs that we got to sit in during my art courses in college. I’m sure they’ve gotten rid of them by now and all I have to remember them by is a Polaroid I shot in a photo class. Boo hoo.

I adored this post. I’m a bit of chair nut myself and my poor husband would agree. I’m always sending him out to the car to haul in some new chair that I’ve “rescued”. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!
