The most wonderful vacation place I’ve actually been to is Seattle, Washington. It’s my kind of town. The best vacation places, I think, are ones you could actually see yourself staying in. It makes every trip there more exciting than the last. It’s got the water, the mountains, and a sense of individuality that I adore.

my favorite vacation spot…vinalhaven island, in maine. eating lobster, swimming in the quarry, going out on “the boat”, collecting old broken pottery in the mud at low tide, eating cucumber sandwiches for breakfast, and just all around general fun with my friends and family!

My favorite vacation spot is Bali, Indonesia. Growing up overseas, I had the opportunity to travel with my family – living in Asia was particularly fascinating. I loved Bali, there was something so incredibly beautiful and peaceful about being there. Not only are the beaches fantastic, but the culture, the people, the food… it’s all wonderful. Definitely definitely Bali!!

Renting a houseboat on Lake Powell for a week. It’s so beautiful. It almost seems like you’re inside the belly of the Grand Canyon. The houseboats have beds inside, but we always drag the mattresses to the roof of the boat and sleep there. I’ve never seen stars like that in my life! no light pollution— just steep canyon walls and stars. so many stars.

  23. Emily says:

  26. My favorite vacation spot is going home to visit my parents in Northwestern Ontario on the border of Manitoba. We get to fish and camp and swim! Also, you can’t beat the northern lights from up there!

  27. Laura says:

Gosh! Tough call there on the best spot, but most recently I have been dreaming about going back to a teeny tiny village in the Tuscan hills between Volterra and Siena… The village has a wonderful laid back rustic Italian flavour, perched on top of a hill with amazing views over the countryside. When you’re on the terrace with a hunk of bread, some local Chianti, you can smell wood smoke and hear the little old ladies in the street below nattering away, that’s pure relaxation. And of course, an awesome place to get photos of real Italian life going on around you as the people appear from closed doors and have a passegiatta after their evening meal. Bliss!

  28. rhaya says:

    This camera bag is fabulous.

One of my favorite places in the world is Rottnest Island off the west coast of Australia. No cars are allowed on the island (everyone travels by bike) and it’s home to the adorable quokka! (It’s the only place in the world they can be easily found.)

Without a doubt and I am sure that dozens of my NYC friends will agree, Camp LLewoh. A cabin built by my great grandfather, the four other houses built by his friends. On a little lake in Pawling NYC. No running water, no electricity. You bubble up with Dr. Bronner’s and jump into the lake to wash you hair. My husband and I got married there, our son Henry’s middle name is Llewoh. It is only 1 hour by the Metro North and each July 4th tons of us gather there and seek refuge from the big crazy city.

  36. Camille says:

My favorite spot is the french alps!

My favorite vacation spot is Italy, where Pablo and I took our first vacation together. And while I loved everywhere we went on that trip – how can you not love Siena and especially gorgeous Cinque Terre? – I really fell for Lucca. It was full of light and shadows, had a wonderful mix of locals and tourists (Italian tourists and foreign alike), and felt relaxed and easy, not rushed and full of must-see sights. It was a city for strolling and meandering, for eating and savoring, for shopping and sipping, for simply enjoying, while hand in hand – except when hand needed to hold a camera. In other words, kind of just right.

  39. Catherine says:

My absolute FAVORITE vacation spot is actually this tiny town in Turkey called, Sirince. It is the most adorable most relaxing town I have ever ben to in my life. Its right outside of Izmir and I swear… If I could live there… I would. They still use the barter system… If that tells you anything. They make everything by hand there and I suggest everyone go there. They have the greatest Mulberry wine that they make there. In short, its a precious town that is simple and beautiful. 62. Nicole says:

My family chooses a new place to spend Christmas every year. Our gifts to each other is more focused on the exploring and adventuring and building new memories. So far my favorite has been San Francisco. Just moved up here and my fam stayed with me in my tiny apt and we explored the city I’ve come to love. Saw a movie, went to the avedon exhibit, and ate legit Thai. Though my favorite personal place to visit is Europe, more specifically Barcelona (beautiful and culturally rich,) my favorite vacations are usually subject to how much I love the people I’m with and less the place.

  63. Brieanne says:

  77. kelly says:

Oh dear Victoria, this might be one of the only giveaways that truly hurts. I’m a true traveler at heart so it would be difficult to pick one. Rio was my last big trip and I’ve been obsessed ever since. They have a similar problem to us San Francicans. They want to have a winter oh so bad that they are wearing fur costs in 80º weather. Where we want it to be Summer so bad that we wear our strappy sandals and sundresses in 50º weather.
Finland was quite stunning as well… imagine walking across a frozen lake to Alvar Aalto’s summer house and seeing where Eero Saarinen grew up. Not to mention all the fun names, words and pronunciations.

  78. Kristin says:

    Gorgeous bag!

Currently my favorite vacation spot is Chattanooga, TN. It’s so close to Atlanta that it’s very easy to visit for a single day or for a weekend. I love going there because it instantly refreshes my mind and I find that all of my stress melts away.

  79. Meg says:

I’m not really that kind of person who enjoys relaxing by the sea. I’m the one who loves to explore big cities and their secret corners :) I also enjoy the feeling when I’m somewhere really well known. That’s why my favourite spots are London and Paris. And I might count in New York one day :)

  80. Laura D says:

  81. Gudny Bra says:

My favorite vacation place has to be Barcelona where I lived for few years. Wouldn´t mind walking around the city with that bag for my camera! :)

  82. amy soczka says:

Last year we went to Costa Rica (Montezuma) and rented a house right on the beach. It was AMAZING and beautiful. The house is called Ivan’s House if you care to google it. 87. Brandi says:

This is all kinds of awesome, and it would make a fantastic school bag for me too. Of the places I’ve been, my favorite spot has been Galway, on the West Coast of Ireland. There’s something about being able to wander into a shop for a cup of soup, watching the sun set at 9pm at night, enjoying the lively atmosphere of the pubs and the impromptu music sessions that begin usually after everyone has a drink or two in them, wandering about the market on the weekends…

  88. Beautiful camera bag. Tough to choose just one vacation spot…favorite exciting place – Paris, favorite restful place – beaches Northern Brazil.

  90. Cindy Lyons says:

Wow, I simply love these bags and have had my eye on one for a long time…My favorite vacation spot is Idyllwild, California in the San Jacinto Mountains. 93. Sarah Rogers says:

I once took a last minute trip dreamed up on a Thursday and set in motion on a Friday to Astoria, Oregon. Upon reaching the bay side, Victorian town I soaked in all of the lush trees and seaside rocks. It was absolutely beautiful. Sea Lions woke you up in the morning and my days were spent writing poetry and walking along a perfectly chilled beach wrapped up a blanket. I spent a lot of time at the Goonies house after making friends with the owner. She was a wonderful person and her view of the bay and on life were both just breathtaking. I know it wasn’t London, or Rome or St Petersburg but I will always treasure it as a place get away and find myself again.

  98. Jennifer says:

OMG I love this! I’ve actually been browsing for a camera bag for some time now with no avail – this is perfect!

It’s hard to pick a favorite spot – there are so many beautiful places, but if I must choose… I’d have to say Thailand. The beaches are beautiful!

  99. Elizabeth says:

Big Sur, California always feels like a true vacation. I love the feeling of being under the canopy of redwood trees. . . It’s a calm & happy place for me.

  100. Stockholm is amazing. I lived there for a summer and have only gotten to return once so far. For anyone who likes urban places, mixed with small town feel, nature, design, fashion – it’s just the best. I’ve never been anywhere that has rivaled it.

  107. Andrea says:

The most amazing vacation place i’ve ever been is a little set of islands just outside of Rio de Janeiro called Angra dos Reis. It’s a set of hundreds of little islands that can only be accessed by a boat. And what a lovely day when that boat is adorned with fruit and beer!

  108. My favourite vacation spot, thus far, is New York. I grew up on the Canadian prairies, where the land is so flat it seems you can see the curve of the earth. So, when I climbed out of the subway, I felt dwarfed by all the buildings. The rows upon rows of buildings made me feel like I was in the middle of a hive. I could feel the energy beaming everywhere I went. It really felt magical.

  109. Suzanne says:

    What a great bag!

There are so many wonderful places to go, but there is nothing like having one place that you return to again and again, in different seasons, over multiple years. It’s nice to know a place so well that you can conjure it when you’re not there. For me it’s a little A-frame cabin my grandfather built at the base of Mt. Tallac in South Lake Tahoe. It’s far enough away from the casinos and resorts that it feels pretty remote. My husband always asks why I take so many pictures every time we go up there. He says it always looks the same, but it doesn’t. Over time I hope the photos will show subtle shifts in the landscape. They allow me, in some ways, to always be there. Since I am newer to photography, it also is a place where I can learn how to take better photos of the same subjects; to capture them more realistically each time.

  110. Katie says:

My favorite place to vacation is not really a place…its more like the spot on the back of my husband’s motorcycle! Last summer we took two weeks off and cruised the west coast all the way into Canada and rode thru the Canadian Rockies and back down again…It was amazing, truly breathtaking. I have some amazing photos to show for it!

  114. Heather Steed says:

it is so charming, and looks as though it is right out of a storybook! all the houses have names instead of numbers, and there is marvelous scenery!

  122. Rachel H. says:

My favorite place to vacation is a small lake about 40 minutes from our house in Kansas City. The lake isn’t the nicest, nor is it the best, but we found a little nook off the beaten path that we can go and open a blanket and relax. I love that I can just say “I NEED THE LAKE” we can pack the dogs and be there in less than an hour. I don’t need much to make me happy, just a little sun, a little water and a smile on my two dogs faces!

  123. Kirsty says:

my favorite vacation spot is in Mexcio City. It was the first overseas trip i took and the culture, history, vibrancy and cheerfulness of the city and people made me feel like I had come home as well as having entered into another world of possibilities. It changed my perception of how you can introduce art, history and ones culture into every day life. I also met the most interesting people there even though we struggled talking to each other through broken english. want to go back asap :)

My favorite vacation spot is in Nova Scotia, where I go every summer… I’ve been going for over 20 years, so in addition to being relaxing and beautiful, it has a special place in my heart for my family.

As for non-reoccurring vacations, my “Eat, Pray, No Love” trip this Spring which includes a week long Bikram retreat and week long trip to Italy may top off some prior favorites!

    Love the bag! Kate

My most favorite vacation spot is Florence, Italy. The cobblestone streets, the pizza, eating gelato every day. I love it there.

  136. We moved to Los Angeles after living in New York for 6 years. There is nothing like going back “home” to Brooklyn. It may not be the most relaxing place, but the bustling energy is what gives me thrills and chills. And I will NEVER tire of shooting the city.

  137. Christina says:

I am very excited by this giveaway as I will be heading to Palm Springs on March 9th! It would be a perfect complement to my travel gear, especially since sfbaygirl uses one. I don’t know if Palm Springs will become a favourite travel destination as this will be my first visit, but my favourite place to date is the Taman Negara Resort in Malaysia, one of the oldest rainforests in the world. It was a perfect blend of exotic, adventure, luxury and excitement with jungle canopy walks, jungle trekking at night, motoring through the rivers via jungle boats, and swimming in the rapids. All that, and grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch (seriously!).

  143. Elizabeth says:

ahhhhh I SO would love this bag. My favorite vacation spot will always be Stinson Beach, followed very closely by Paris and Hawaii. I’m either looking for amazing food & culture or sunshine, sand, & water – nothing in between.

  149. Smudge Tikka says:

All you Americans are so lucky because my favorite vacation spot is all of the USA.
Sure Europe and Australia are great too, and an exotic beach is great till you get too hot and uncomfortable and bitten by sand crabs and mosquitos but visually I love the States, I love all the wacky signs, the old cars and freeways and tumbledown shacks, the forests and mountains and beaches. You have a country that has the best of everything already in it. No wonder many Americans never travel anywhere else!
By the way, the bag is pretty cool too.

  150. Vanessa says:

My favorite vacation spot is Nice, France. Right in the middle of the Rivera so you get to lounge on the beach. The people are lovely; the food divine; and there is plenty to explore or you can just stay in one little area of the city and get familiar (that’s what we did). It was so fantastic. That was 9 years ago! I need to return. I love this bag… I would totally use it for travel and daily use. Thanks for the giveaway, Victoria! :)

Like Ireland, it’s a work to live atmosphere and I just adore it.

  163. favorite vacation spot:

i’m not kidding. i’ve recently completed a major lifestyle overhaul and now my days are filled with country-living, simple and (attempting to be) frugal. i fix all three meals a day for my hubby and i, wander around my house looking at the new blooms, and never set an alarm clock. i feel so blessed i could cry.

Wonderful giveaway! My favorite vacation spot ironically is where you call home. San Francisco is where my father took me when I was little girl and then my husband surprised me and took me there for our honeymoon. It is by far my favorite place to vacation!

I can be reached at emilyc.831@gmail.com

  169. Rosemary says:

Oh. Wow. I thought that was a beautiful handbag, then when I read “camera bag” I couldn’t believe it! What an upgrade from the awkward thing I stuff my camera into now! And would make a fabulous birthday present since my birthday is today! :) (Shameless, I know)

My favorite vacation spot is staying in the Bienville House Hotel in New Orleans. NOLA has so much wonderful culture and the Bienville is perfectly quaint and relaxing.

  170. Aya Brackett says:

My favorite vacation spot is on the coast of Vietnam where we eat sticky rice, smell lotus blossoms and watch the fisherman in their woven basket boats. When I’m shooting on my own I hate normal camera bags (it ruins my approach as I go for the candid shots) so often all my precious gear is unprofessionally lugged around in my purse – tee hee. These emera bags looks much safer and cuter.

  171. Veronica P says:

What a beautiful bag! I love love love San Francisco and am trying to convince my hubs to take me for my birthday in April.

  172. Michelle says:

My favorite vacation spot is the Kootney’s in British Columbia, Canada. You can find the most lovely towns (Kaslo is a favorite) and your nearly always surrounded by lake, rivers and mountains. Hop onto an old logging road up a mountain and camp under the stars, it’s beautiful.

NYC. Lurve it. I want to live off 77th and Broadway. Sigh.

  181. noteify says:

My fav vacation spot was Hydra island in Greece – no motorized vehicles allowed, but lots of hills, so donkeys are key!! Beautiful beaches and great people, but my next adventure will include an Airstream trailer! Love the bag!

  183. Lynda says:

Hawaii!! But for a place closer – San Diego.

  184. Janel Murray says:

Malta…I know, random. But my husband took me there when we were dating and he was stationed overseas. We seemed to be the only Americans on the island at the time and were welcomed with open arms. We could never replicate that trip. Oh, and LOVE the bag!! Great idea.

  185. Victoria says:

Oooo… it’s a toss-up between Caye Caulker, Belize and Llanes in Asturias!

  186. Julie says:

Great giveaway! The island of Kefalonia, Greece is my absolute favorite vacation spot. It’s the island that my father is from, and I’ve been visiting almost every summer my whole life. It is by far the most beautiful place on earth, to me, and I love photographing it with my Nikon D80 camera. This bag would be the perfect travel companion!

  187. my goodness, I haven’t been on a vacation in a long while. the last time was to Boston. it was cold and I loved it.

  189. Alisa says:

My pick is San Francisco. There are so many places to take photos and you don’t need to hit the tourist spots to find something unique and memorable to shoot. San Francisco is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, and for me, to have all the fun of an urban city with easy access to the beach and surf culture just a bus ride away, that makes it a favourite vacation spot for me.

  190. lindsay says:

while the list of places i’d *like* to vacation grows by the day, my favorite place to visit regularly is nyc. it may not be the most relaxing of destinations, but every trip is unique with new things to see and do at every turn!

My favorite spot is Seal Harbor, Maine. I’m pretty sure fairies have sprinkled magic dust in the air there. It’s incredibly gorgeous and the air so fresh and pure. Love it.

  193. Hi Victoria. Sadly, I did NOT have one of these in 2003 when I visited my family who were living in South Africa at the time. My camera took a real beating on the journey and the resultant photographs of the incredible flora and fauna of Africa were lackluster to put it kindly. I vow to go back with better gear, a snazzy bag like this one and more time to create images that will do justice to this absolutely remarkable country.

  194. What a fabulous bag!!!

My favorite vacation spots so far are Paris and Venice. So much eye candy. So much yumminess. So much inspiration. I would love to go back soon with my new camera skills and my nikon d80. This bag would be perfect!

  195. katie says:

Wonderful bag! Thank you for the giveaway.

  198. Carrie S. says:

  199. Alyssa Griffith says:

    :)

  203. Tina Marie says:

  205. maggie says:

One of my favorite places to vacation is Bruxelles, Belgium. The daily flea markets take up entire city squares everyday, all day. The cafe’s have beer with recipes from the 1200′s with a glass to go with each of their usually 100 beers. & the city’s mascot is a naked boy peeing into a fountain, named “The Pissing Boy.” Plus I found the Chanel gold chain scarf I’d been dying to have for 15 euros!

  206. My favorite vacation spots are Dubrovnik-Croatia and Florence-Italy. I’ve been to both once and couldn’t get enough. I love the history, the art and relaxed living styles in both places, every corner is a sight to see.Highly recommended for everyone!
Loved the bag! Great for a weekend trip too, just a tshirt and your camera for a getaway.

  207. Kelley says:

My camera really wants to live inside that bag!! My favorite vacation spot is this house in Puerto Vallarta called Casa del Quetzal. It’s heaven on earth! 5 bedrooms so you can bring 4 other friends along, a cook to prepare two meals a day and an infinity pool at the top of a hill overlooking the ocean. It just doesn’t get much better than that! http://www.casadelquetzal.com/

  208. Zoe designs says:

Coffee Bay in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. An amazing, lost in time place, where cows swim in the surf, kids play football on the beaches and women walk the hills with bright coloured wrappings. Wonderful, cheap, exciting and colourful culture!

  209. The very best vacation spot to me is right here where I live: Brazil! There are many beautiful places to visit, specially at the coast. You should come to take some great pics ;)

  210. Sally says:

Most people’s dream vacations are thousands of miles away and in exotic, once-in-a-lifetime-experience places. I prefer my “home away from home,” so to speak. This place is Asheville, NC. It’s not too far away from my own home, but when I go to Asheville, it’s like stepping into another world. The people there are so diverse and sometimes strange and quirky that its exotic in its own way. The city is so eclectic and artsy, there’s never a dull moment. Street vendors, musicians on every corner, friendly local shop owners – Asheville is truly defined by its people. At night, the parties come alive and the city is blazing with life. Every night holds a different and exciting cultural experience. Asheville’s also a great place for relaxing, seeing as it’s located in a sort of valley in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I can easily go from the excitement of the city to the peace and beauty of the nature that surrounds it. There’s also that bit of history that takes me in when I’m in Asheville. When I visit the Biltmore Estate, I discover more and more about the beauty of the estate, the elegance of the Biltmore House’s rooms and the richness of our history. I may have written too much for this comment, but I can’t even begin to give Asheville the justice it deserves.

  211. Heidi Oswald says:

The old me prior to bambino would have said Paris, but the current mama me loves Hawaii. There’s nothing like a warm sunny beach to let your diaper clad ( or commando! ) little one roll around in the sand and splash in the waves. I get a tan, he gets to eat sand, husband gets surf….we’re stoked : )

  212. NotoriousMLE says:

New York! Concrete jungle where dreams are made of!

  213. Favourite vacation spot is Camps Bay in Cape Town South Africa! Amazing beach front cafés, great people watching, surf, sand and sun! However, my most favourite part is the Passion fruit popsicles sold by the beach vendors! They tast like vacation bliss!

  214. Kim P says:

I am a photography enthusiast and this bag is amazing!

My favorite vacation place is Barcelona! This is the city my husband proposed! :)

Thanks for the giveaway. Beautiful bag!

  220. Wendy says:

I highly recommend the Malaysian island “Perhentian Besar” (northeast Malaysia)! Crystalline water makes for superb snorkelling, you don’t have to swim far to see a huge variety of sea life: I spotted a small shark when the water was only at knee level! The atmosphere is laid-back and the food yummy & cheap. We spent our days swimming, snorkelling, taking lang walks in the jungle and reading looots of books. At night the sky is lit up with stars; it was very romantic and the perfect place where my husband proposed to me :-) *sigh*

  221. Nancy Pilon says:

That bag is unbelievable ! I got 2 favorite vacation spots: Acadia Nat’L Park in automn (hiking+ colorfull trees + ocean + calm = Paradise) and Paris. Oh, and NYC… and Barcelona… What can I say.. I love the world !

  222. Erin says:

Depending on the reason for my vacation, I’ve got a few favorite places. For relaxing with friends in the warm sun with a margarita and without many tourists around, I loved Queretaro in the mountains of Mexico. Vacationing with my family, Norway is both beautiful and emotionally fulfilling, being the country of my roots, where my distant cousins still live on the land where my great-great-great grandparents were born. If I were to choose a place I’ve already been for no one but myself to enjoy, I would spend my time during the summer relaxing on an undeveloped lake in North Dakota near where I was born and raised.

  223. Jen says:

My favorite destination of all time is Cape Town, South Africa. I spent a few months volunteering there after I graduated from college, and the combination of breath-taking beauty and wonderful people make it a favorite in my book.

  225. Maddy says:

I’m honestly torn between so many great places, but when it comes down it, I can close my eyes and remember standing along the Bosphorus at sunset, absorbing the call to prayer as it echos throughout the city and I realize Istanbul is definitely one of the most amazing vacation spots in the world, not to mention it’s a photographers dream!

  226. Oh goodness, I’ve been lusting over this quilted one for months!
Favourite travel destination is Tuscany. The rolling hills, the gorgeous poplar and olive trees, sun drenched fields of sunflowers and gorgeous little towns with locals so happy to welcome you. The light in Italy is a photographer’s dream.
I think that emera bag would look chic over my shoulder wandering the streets of Italia ;)

  227. Lynette Curtin says:

Oh my goodness, what an AMAZING giveaway! I’ve been saving my pennies for this bag.

It has everything: crystal clear lakes with great beaches, glorious mountains and forests, and delish pastries and fried Schnitzel! :D

  233. O I so need a new camera bag, and not one that screams “i have a camera in me”. So far my favorite vacation has been to Seattle and Olympic National Park. Driving all day around a national forest was such an adventure.

  234. holly p says:

That bag is amazing! My favorite vacation spot is Croatia. It is seriously the most beautiful place on earth!

  235. This bag is just fabulous! Emera has hit the mark on style for functional and gorgeous camera bags.

I went on a cruise a couple of summers ago with my husband, dad and sister in Europe down the Rhine River. I would have LOVED to have this bag along for the trip! A nice camera to go in it would have been nice, too…

  236. Anna says:

I fell in love with Madrid and want to go back asap!

  237. BakerGirl says:

    Awesome giveaway!

My favorite vacation was to Interlaken with a friend. We stayed in this small little B&B with a view of the mountains and a wonderful husband wife team who ran the business. I went paragliding, horseback riding and ate some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had. The air was so fresh and clean, I’ve never been anywhere like it since.

  238. My favorite vacation spot would have to be Seattle. I love it there!!!! DC would have to be a close second. :-)

  239. Marlie says:

My favourite vacation spot is Seattle, WA. I love going there and am always finding new things to see and do.

  240. Amanda F says:

I have two favourite vacation spots from the last few years. San Francisco and Chicago. We spend only 4 days in both of those cities, took hundreds of photos, and had a great time. Both cities were just beautiful and I would go back to either place in a heartbeat – hopefully with a new camera bag! :)

  241. Jenna Halek says:

I’m from Minnesota and I love to road trip to Colorado and Arizona. They both have such lovely scenery and lots to explore (lots to see in between too). I always end up taking millions of pictures, so the fabulous camera bag you are giving away would fit perfect in my travels.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

my favourite vacation spot is absolutely anywhere! i love checking out new places. i guess if i had to choose, a roadtrip is best. (with a lovely bag to stow my beast of a camera and help me look a little more pulled together when falling out of a truck at some roadside diner.)

  245. Lisa says:

Idaho during the summer. The weather is great and there are tons of beautiful places to hike.

  246. Sarina says:

Being a Kiwi, my favourite vacation spot has to be New Zealand’s Wairarapa region.

Being essentially around the capital Wellington, just on the other side of the Rimutaka Ranges – Wairarapa boasts some of the most crisp and strong sav blanc and bold pinot and merlots. It is also the epicentre of homegrown olive groves and produces brilliant olive oils that are distinctive for their grassy flavours. The townships of Greytown and Martinborough with their tranquail backdrops provide the best setting for a relaxing getaway.

Martinborough is a township planned in the shape of the Union Jack and has some of the best Kiwi restaurants I had ever been to. My favourite place has to be the historical building that is Peppers Hotel and the local golf course.

Greytown is one New Zealand’s first settlements and is home to Shoc – a delicate and inovative chocolate boutique. It is also a great place to do some weekend antiquing!

  247. Kate says:

My favorite vacation spot is exactly the island where I was born, Mallorca. I believe we don’t have to go to the other side of the planet to find amazing and beautiful places. We can find stunning spots just around the corner :)
In Mallorca we can find crystal clear waters, beautiful mountains, fantastic stone villages, lovely people and pleasant walks through the old part of town. Certainly a great place to take gorgeous photographs :)

  250. val says:

this bag would have suited me well when i visited my very favorite vacation spot, Florence, Italy. carrying it, I would have looked less like a tourist, and much more like a fashionable globe trotter! thanks for sharing.

  252. Mallory says:

My favorite vacation spot is actually in my home state – Hermit Island in Maine. I go camping there every summer with my family & I hope the tradition never ends. It’s such a dreamy little island (especially in early June when we go, before all the crowds arrive). Our favorite site is a little wooded nook on a rocky ledge overlooking the ocean…. I could sit there and read for hours and hours and hours.

  253. Cecilia says:

My favorite place to spend vacations is the great never sleeps city of New York. As i live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, i start enjoing the trip since the moment i step in the plane. Oh! and that bag is great! my camera would be very confy in one of those!

  254. Stephanie says:

Having flown the nest for so many years, the one place I find myself longing to be is probably just Home. It’s not always a vacation when being lectured by relatives and there are always constant reminders of the reasons for leaving in the first place, but there is nowhere else in the world where I find the warmth that I feel when I am at home.

  255. Meghan says:

My favorite vacation spot is Cork, Ireland.
The second largest city in Ireland, it has all the excitement of Dublin without the crowds. Its filled with friendly people and the charm and bright colors of the smaller coastal towns nearby.
I’m still trying to figure out a way to move there.

  256. audrey pm says:

  259. Hands down it’s Bora Bora all the way. The food is amazing as well as the people. But the crystal clear water is what made it paradise.

  260. SFDC says:

I second the island of Anguilla! The most beautiful beaches I have ever seen…

What an amazing giveaway!! Montpelier, Vermont is my favorite vacation spot. I love visiting my brother, sister-in-law, and their adorably large dogs there. It’s just a few hours from my home in Jersey City, NJ but it feels like another world. It’s so beautiful surrounded by mountains and open space and Montpelier is a quaint little epicenter with some of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met.

  263. Audrey Marie says:

My favorite vacation spot- Florence, Italy. I love it everything there.

  266. susie says:

My favorite vacation spot is the campground at Jalama Beach, CA. What could be better than miles of undeveloped central California coast to explore and enjoy? Long morning walks to watch surfers catching waves in the early AM, naps on the beach dunes in the afternoon and stargazing at night!

  267. Beverly says:

    Great giveaway! Thanks for sharing!

My favorite vacation spot thus far is the entire coast of Maine. I can’t pick just one spot, as I traveled from Portland to Bar Harbor one spring, hitting everything I could in 10 days. I’d love to go back and spend more time in one spot – just relaxing, but at the time, I wanted to see as much as possible!

  268. Oooh, ooh! Pick me! Pick me! My favorite vacation spot is Bend, OR. It may sound strange but the best way I can describe why I love it is that it feels good to breath there. I feel the most alive when I am in Bend. Winter or Summer, snowboarding, hiking, playing in the river, biking, etc. It is perfection.

  269. Sara Norris says:

This such a great giveaway! My favorite vacation spot is Crystal Beach, TX. My family has been vacationing there since I was a child. We rent a beach house for a week every summer. Its a chance for us all to take a break from our busy lives and meet so we can catch up with each other and unwind in a place that we love. In 2008 the beach was almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Ike. I was so thankful to still be able to spend time there last summer with my family. Its such a special place to me.

  270. My favorite spot to vacation is home – Minnesota. I only get to visit once or twice a year so I miss my family so very much.

    reneerose82@hotmail.com

  271. Debbie says:

This is an awesome bag, I would love it to be mine…Hum, my favorite vacation spot? I think I can always go to my family camp spot in MA. 274. Rosa N. says:

Really loving how stylish this bag is, I’m quite sick of walking around with a bright red DSLR bag that has “CANON” bolded on the side of it. My favourite vacation spot is always slightly closer to home, which is the Gold Coast, Australia. It has been known for the best beaches, theme parks, shopping adventures. And of course thats’ why I bring my DSLR to it :)

  275. JenniferU says:

Croatia – hands down! But I am heading to Palm Springs on Wed. and that’ll be just fine for now. Gorgeous bag, too.

  281. Melissa says:

It’s hard to pick just place but this is my most memorable; Liard Natural Hot Springs in northern British Columbia, just south of the Yukon border. Picture this at night time with candles & a special someone:

  283. These bags are gorgeous. Wow.
I am out of the ‘travel’ mode with three young boys at home, but I have been dreaming for a while of a trip to NYC just for my husband and me. I would love to shop and eat and take in all of the gorgeous NYC sites.

  284. That is a beautiful bag! I am pretty simple, but I love Texas! It has so many interesting places to visit, that I can’t seem to get enough of! My fingers are crossed, hope I win! Have a lovely day!

  285. Katy says:

Oh, Hawaii, to be certain. The Big Island, specifically. The beaches in Kona, rife with small sparkling green geckos and beautifully sedate sea turtles, the mountainous highlands, the tropical waterfalls…and the volcano, of course. So many different beautiful ecosystems, just spread out in front of my camera like a banquet!

magnetic island off north queensland will always be a favorite. amazing beaches, private bays, a tiny (late 70′s) village atmosphere. 296. Gina Bee says:

Favorite vacation spot would be Bergamo, IT. (A bit unfair as I have family there). It’s a photographer’s delight: an old town (that used to be on the edge of the Venetian Empire) high above the Lombardy plains with an old town below- it can be covered in thick soupy fog such that only spires and domes stick out (seriously google it). Aside from that it’s a toss up between Paris and Florence. A great vacation place is one you can keep going to again and again to rediscover.

  297. tammy says:

what a fantastic bag! my favorite vacation spot is simple san destin, fla. not too far from home, but lovely white beaches and bike paths.

I’d have to say my favorite vacation spot is the 5-day road trip I took with my grandma and 37 other members of her senior community center. I was the youngest on the tour bus by at least 4 decades. Spending that much time with a generation twice removed was eye-opening and entertaining. Oh the stories they’d tell! I really could have used this bag at the time, all the essentials conveniently stowed in a cute bag.

Italy. I have only been once but I’d love to go back.

  349. morgan says:

I’ve always wanted to travel to Europe, and this year I DID IT! My birthday is on St. Patrick’s day, so my very first trip abroad was to Ireland. It was luscious and green and downright wonderful (except for the food…). I can’t wait for my next European adventure!

  350. jeannette says:

there are a million places I would like to visit but I really feel comfortable at the Phoenician in Phoenix . . .

  351. Amanda says:

This bag is amazing! (not to mention, I really need a camera bag!) My favorite vacation spot would have to be where my husband and I honeymooned in Spain – a tie between Marbella and Madrid (tranquil beach vs. historic city) – and both such lovely places for photographing!

  352. Bluebirdbaby says:

Oh this is so lovely!!! I need a another camera bag too! My favorite vacation spot? Right here where I am. I love home life, I love Maine, I love the ocean. It’s perfect :)
And i love your blog! I recently found it. So happy I did :)

  353. Tiffany says:

I don’t have any specific places in mind, I love exploring new places! But lately, my ‘vacation’ spot has been San Francisco – it’s been nice spending afternoons in the city after class.

  354. Mimi McCormick says:

my favorite vacation spot…don’t even have to think about it – my grandparents’ cottage in Duncans, Jamaica. every morning we wake up to the stripes of sunlight coming through the old, paint-chipped shutters, gather round the patio table for what resembles an artist’s pallet of fresh, vibrant fruit, and some type of baked, hearty dish (in Jamaica you make everything with butter – this in itself makes life better than ever). we don’t go sight-seeing or do anything for the rest of the day, except soak in the Jamaican rays, cool off in the coconut lotion breeze, smile at the Jamaican Patois and accent, savor Grace’s Jamaican sweet ketchup, and dip in the arresting Jamaican ocean, jello-like in both its color and clarity, but smooth as the butter we love, down there. And the best part? Finally being reunited with my family under one bright blue tile roof, for an entire week. Finally!

  355. Chelsea says:

I’ve been dying for an emera bag! They’re so classy!
My favorite vacation spot right now is Tallahassee, FL–where I went to school. I can’t believe I’m saying that because when you live there you feel there is nothing to do. I visited over New Years though and stayed with friends who are still in school. It was the perfect vacation because I could get away from my crazy life and still feel at home at the same time! No crazy tourist feelings, just friends and warmth and relaxation. I’m ready for my next trip!

  356. Melissa says:

I grew up reading the Anne of Green Gables books by Lucy Maud Montgomery and then fell in love with the movie series with Megan Follows. My Dad promised to take me to Price Edward Island…and he kept his promise. For a fourteen year old girl it was heaven. I still think it is the nicest place.

  357. Caroline says:

INDIA! Between the vibrant colors, the exotic culture, the interesting people and animals, and the utter chaos of the cities, the country is just bursting with photographic moments. Actually, if I had this bag in India it wouldn’t get much use, seeing as how I never want to take my hands off the camera when I’m there!

  358. Snarky A says:

My favorite vacation spot is Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. There is nowhere I would rather go, for the beauty, the nature, the people… I could go on and on.

    I love the camera bag!
    Thanks for a great giveaway!

  359. Fallon says:

My favourite vacation spot is Tofino, British Columbia. Its pretty much the only “surf town” in Canada and it has such an amazing energy to be a part of ! It’s a great place to visit even if you aren’t into surfing with tons of great places to fill a relaxing vacation.

These bags are so wonderful !

  360. rachael says:

oh my gosh, this is exactly what i have been looking for. it would be perfect! i so hope to win….fingers crossed!

favorite vacation spot? qamea in fiji. it is a small island and an even smaller resort, right on the water, rainforesty and beachy, just untouched and so beautiful…

  361. Julie says:

I never imagined a camera bag could look this good! I have three different favourites depending on what kind of holiday I want.

Cook Islands in the South Pacific for doing not much at all in sublime surroundings.

Oahu for doing lots and lots.

    Tokyo for exploring!

  362. celine jackson says:

I’ve been looking for a bag like this for YEARS!!!!

Ireland was my most wonderful vacation ever. A little country, a little city… all charm and beauty. Can’t wait to take my girls there. Of course, you can never go wrong in Italy… uh oh… i feel a case of wanderlust coming on!

  363. Tabatha says:

My favorite vacation spot is Thailand – it’s got everything…land, sea, food, culture, and affordable prices to boot. My most favorite recent place to photograph has got to be the slot canyons in Page, Arizona though – just beautiful curves of the landscape…

  364. Robyn says:

My favourite place to vacation is within our own national park system. Currently I am in awe with Zion National Park in Utah. It has to be one of the most majestic natural places I have seen in a long time.

  365. futurowoman says:

What a wonderful giveaway! There are so many amazing places in the world, but one of my favorites is Istanbul. It’s such a loaded city–loaded with history, style, natural and man-made beauty, amazing people, great food, beautiful EVERYTHING! I adore it!

  366. Mandy says:

Need this! I’m taking a trip to Thailand soon and could really use a less obvious photography bag. My favorite vacation destination so far has been the small town of Cesky Krumlov in the southern Czech Republic. It’s stunningly beautiful, has lots of cultural sites, lots of gorgeous countryside directly outside, and if you go in a non-touristy time, very laid back and friendly. I would love to go back one day!

  367. Helen X says:

It would have to be Santorini, Greece! I love the food, the people and everything else.

  368. kim@dti says:

  369. Erin says:

I love this! I’ve been looking for a suitable bag that doesn’t compete with my already huge purse….This is the perfect solution.

My favorite vacation spot is Angers, France, in the heart of the Loire Valley. Good red wines, kind people, and a short drive from most of the valley’s chateaux.

  370. Jayne Bramley says:

I think my most recent vacation was my favorite, Isla Mujeres (7 miles off the coast from Cancun) a wonderful little island with some great photo opportunities. My friend and I had lots of fun playing with our cameras :)

  372. Heather says:

It’s beautiful! That bag is beee-yooo-ti-ful! My favorite vacation spot is Bar Harbour, ME because it is tiny and happy and relaxing and has great food and great beers!

  373. Katie K says:

I love that the first person to comment said Seattle! I love my town! I love taking pictures and doing touristy things in my home town…however I would say the first place I thought of when you asked as Kauai. I spent two weeks there this winter and was amazed by the lushness and vivid colors everywhere.

  374. theresa hoang says:

i recently traveled to santiago, chile. i know it’s a really random place, but i went for school..and it was AMAZING. the people that i met are the nicest and sweetest people ever. they made that trip even more awesome than i imagined. from the city to the “jungle” of chile, everything was so peaceful and so beautiful. i would go back in a heartbeat. hopefully with this beautiful bag to carry my camera!

  375. Kathryn says:

San Francisco used to be my favorite vacation spot until I decided to move here. :) Now it’s San Diego but only because the beaches there are so wonderful (and warm!) Dreaming of trying Buenos Aires sometimes soon.

Check out picks of my island travels – http://www.flickr.com/photos/19693042@N00/collections/72157604432937747/

  382. Lien says:

I’ve never been on a real vacation before, but I’ve always wanted to visit Paris, France!

  383. kelly ann says:

oh my gosh, i love this! i’m a photographer and have been searching for a cute yet functional bag that fits my cameras and my macbook – this is perfect! :)

favorite vacation spot is probably, believe it or not, mariposa county – not too far from yosemite. my grandmother used to live in a little house in the woods and my family & i spent a lot of vacation time there when i was growing up, especially when i was really little. i would feed the animals in the forest every morning using old tree stumps, and i would hang out with the deer in my long, flowy dresses… i thought the deer could understand me because i used to talk to them and tell them stories like i was in a disney movie or something;), and surprisingly they weren’t frightened by me. i would play among the trees with my brother and collect pinecones and branches… and then go into town for ice cream or hot chocolate. those were some of the best times of my life. :) my grandmother has since sold her house there and i will never get over that… it’s one of my favorite places in the world and it holds so much of my childhood!

  384. Helena says:

Brugges or Barcelona, definitely. They’re both very colorful, in their own ways, and so take great pictures!

  386. Nin says:

Favorite vacation spots would be Hawai’i for chilling and seeing family, and Paris for the food, art, and ambiance.

  387. Kelly says:

I must admit, my favorite vacation spot is still Disneyland! Anytime I go there I am reminded of my family’s summer vacations to Anaheim, which were spent going to Disneyland for three or four days, swimming in the motel pool, checking out the beach, and visiting downtown L.A. You can still find a nice selection of 1960s motor lodges around Disneyland too–I love the architecture and nostalgia!

  388. Carin says:

Maui is the perfect spot. Amazing blue skies, wild horses and chickens and snokeling all day long. I went a few years ago and can’t wait to go back. I need a new bag for my camera.

  389. Hannah says:

    Playa Del Carmen, Mexico!

The feel like Playa Del Carmen is the perfect blend between a modern, resort-esque and rustic local flavor. The town is small enough and less popular than the other Mexican resorts so that the result is a lovely little getaway spot that isn’t super fancy and set apart from the “real” Mexico. Sure, there’s a Starbucks right next to the ocean front boardwalk, but go down 2 streets and you’ll find a butcher shop that grills up fresh carne asada for you and for the numerous locals that visit. From Playa you can lounge on the beach and have strawberry daiquiris brought to you, or you can go ziplining or hiking through the jungles and eat lunch at a local Mayan village. It’s seriously such a beautiful location with the most amazing locals and out of this world food.

  390. Lauren says:

New York City is fun. That and Chicago. I’d LOVE to see England, but haven’t yet.

  394. My favorite vacation spot is Seattle, WA. I love the city, the music, the culture, the food. Everything about it screams, “Awesome Adventure.”

  395. My favourite vacation spot is Port Douglas in Queensland, Australia.
In all my travels I have never found a place more mesmerising, where the stunning Great Barrier Reef meets coconut palm lined beaches and vast strips of finely crushed coral sand span the frontage of swanky resorts. Here I can bust out a song riding on a vintage bike down the main street while perusing the lush boutique shops and drinking freshly roasted local coffee from the tablelands. Balmy nights, pristine beaches, superb sunsets and friendly locals; penguins, sea lions and dolphins… I’m in love.

  396. Kelsey says:

    Love this bag!

I hesitate to share this, because it seems so very…ordinary. But the hubby and I were married in Cabo San Lucas, so each trip back is a chance to relive the most wonderful day of my life.

I would LOVE to tote that bag around with me, the canvas one I use doesn’t look good and only has one big pocket. Plus I still shoot with film, so a pocket to stash some rolls would be great!!

  422. Shay says:

  444. julie says:

Oh gosh, this was hard. At first I was going to say Paris or Venice because I do truly love those places and have wandered alone and met wonderful flirty men and ate amazing foods and bought shoes but then I realized that perhaps not the most beautiful place I’ve been but the most heart-perfect place for me was going to Buenos Aires to dance. The way the streets crumble gently, the dance studio’s floors warped from so many pairs of tango couples moving over them until dawn, and the afternoon air at the Confiteria Ideal where the old milongueros (men in their 70s and 80s) wait for a quiet dance, their bodies full of years of tango and boy, are they the best dance partners. Yes, it must be Buenos Aires and knowing me, if I get back there again, I probably won’t even take any photos. I’ll be dancing!

The Catlins Coast in New Zealand is breathtaking! So many photo opps!

  450. Kelly says:

wow…with 444 comments/participants, I don’t know if I am lucky enough to win this. I will try my luck :)
My favourite vacation was to Hong Kong with my boyfriend. We used travel around the world almost every year. I liked Hong Kong because of the shopping and the food. We did not go to any theme parks (Hong Kong is famous for Ocean Park and Disneyland) but we went to the muziums instead. It was fun to see what Hong Kong looks like 100 years ago.

i love to travel and live in super cool montreal, but lately my absolute favorite thing to do is participate in the staycation. work, work, travel, work some more… my yoga pants, a good magazine, blog heaven and my brown velvet couch is where its at. no calls, no clients, just personal projects, visual stimulation and down time to get the creative juices flowing without the buzz of the world. a good recharge before heading back out into the big beautiful picture worthy world.

i am so in love with this bag. big, big love!

  458. Katie says:

My favorite vacation spot is being out in the middle of the lake just sitting in my kayak with my wonderful fiance Jack and our dog Gracie. 461. Emily says:

Oh goodness. My heart leapt when I saw these bags… My favorite vacation spot so far was a teeny town called San Pancho in Mexico, about 40 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. There was a beach, some places to eat, and the most darling, cozy, gorgeous boutique hotel. I went with three of my girlfriends and we just ate, drank, and sunned our way through the week.

  462. Heather W. says:

Oh my! I normally don’t refer to begging, but for this bag, I must! I am not suppose to know, but I am getting a digital slr for graduation! This bag would be so perfect for it! My favorite Vacation spot, definitely is anywhere that has a nice cozy beach, and some fun little shops. Perfect place for pictures! Please pick me!

    I’m a fan of stay-cations….so San Francisco!

  464. Elle Young says:

While I’ve been to Europe and the islands and across the country, my favorite vacation spot is easy to name. It’s not particularly special, nor glamorous, nor exclusive, but Topsail Island, NC has served as a consistent spot in my heart for all of the past 22 years of my life. Despite having lived in over 16 different homes in 5 states, my family continues to spend our beach vacation at this quiet, relatively unknown spot in North Carolina. It doesn’t come with attractions or boardwalks, because when we go to the beach, we go for the beach. We rarely go out to eat, but instead spend hours in the kitchen cooking with fresh seafood. For us, this vacation spot is more than a place to catch some waves — in some senses, this small beach town had more of a presence in my childhood than most houses we moved in and out of. It meant so much for my parents to continue to bring us back there, no matter where we were living at the time. While I look forward to a life full of travel, I will always go back to Topsail for those classic and simple beach vacations.

  465. sunny says:

I love that bag, very smart. It is difficult to choose my favorite vacation spot, because I have not been everywhere in the world. I would have to say Ireland was my favorite so far.

  466. Elle Young says:

Oops, forgot to include my site!

My favorite vacation spot would have to be Lake Tahoe because it has the best skiing in the country (that I’ve experienced) and has drop dead gorgeous views.

  468. heidileon says:

My favorite spot for vacation is South of France.

Provence has it all when it comes to great landscapes (think lavender fields)amazing food, good weather and that perfect frenchie attitude of je-ne-sais-quoi…

..but I’m planning our next month trip to Thailand, so, I might change of mind. :-)

ps. I would definitely rock in BKK and Samui with that gorgeous camera bag..just sayin’

  469. alely d. lee says:

my favorite vacation spot thus far would be maui. However, my dream is to vacation in Italy. I’m sure that would be my favorite vacation spot above Hawaii.

  470. soo says:

I wouldn’t have said this when I was younger, but my answer now would be Trepassey Newfoundland, Canada, where my husband’s parents own an old, old house by the sea. In Newfoundland, the sea isn’t about sunny days by beautiful beaches. You walk along the wind swept coast and you feel almost intimidated by the ocean, and yet you’re always drawn…it’s hard to explain the beauty that comes hand in hand with the power, and you feel it so strong there. I’m always daydreaming about Trepassey…

  471. Alix says:

Copenhagen in the winter, just before the holidays. Everyone bundled up but smiling through their scarves and coats, small children in their snowsuits walking like legged-marshmellows, the blue fog by the water, the lovely constancy of so many bicycles, chocolate stores with beautiful displays in their windows. But most of all- the gloriousness of the lights there! Perhaps because it gets dark so very early in the winter, the obsession with beautiful lamps and lights, the warm glow from homes whose windows you can peek into or the lighting stores which feel as numerous as Starbucks here. Such happiness to sit drinking hot chocolate in some sweet cafe with conversation all around you that you do not understand but you feel warm and surrounded by goodness.

  472. Krissy says:

What a fantastic bag! I’d love to replace my current camera bag with something this beautiful.

I don’t get to travel much (on a student budget), so my favourite travel destination would have to be Alberta, Canada. Aside from my own province, it’s probably my favourite place. :)

  473. stephanie says:

my very first real vacation i remember was when i was 6, my mom and i went on a cruise to the bahamas. my mom and dad split when i was younger and my mom had just remarried which i wasn’t happy about, so it was really nice to spend quality time alone with my mom. i remember there was a salt water pool and i thought it was the coolest thing EVER! haha

  474. Christa says:

By far, my favorite place is Holland, Michigan. I have been all over the world but there is something about Holland MI that holds a special place in my heart (maybe because we have tons of friends and family there) but it is such a special place!

I hope I win that gorgeous thing because the bag we’re using, my husband bought when he was in high school…and it’s pathetic.

  475. Kishah says:

  476. Erin Fraser says:

My favorite spot to vacation is Kalaloch Beach and the Olympic National Parks in Washington. Kalaloch has wonderful wooden log cabins and a lodge people can stay in or simply camping spots. Very near Forks, Washington. The beaches, the forests, the ocean, the parks and the sounds are just amazing. Would be a perfect place to use the bag with all my cameras tucked safely away. Would love to win the bag. I am hoping to start selling some of my photography soon. Love your blog. Erin

  479. Shevaun says:

My favorite vacation place is The Pinnacles Western Australia.
You stay in a tiny little town and the beaches stretch out forever without anyone on them. At sunset the pinnacles light up with this wonderful golden light that screams “photograph me!” Golden hour lasts forever because the pinnacles sit down in a basin below the horizon.
    Love it!

  480. Rachel says:

What a fab looking camera bag! My favourite vacation spot is in Byron Bay on the NSW far north coast (Australia). It is a gorgeous little town with amazing beaches and a real bohemian vibe with organic and health food cafes, juice bars, organic fair trade coffee and an awesome pub with live bands! An amazing place to escape to enjoy the sun relax, unwind and completely rejuvinate.

  481. Jesska says:

Vermont. That is my favorite vacation spot. It is where I grew up, it is where my family is, it is where I feel most comfortable and free. Nothing beats the quality time I experience there along with Vermont’s charming beauty. The rolling hills, seeded with farms and old barns. Autumn is an insanely amazing time of year there. I love taking photographs there.

  484. Robin says:

    Hello:

I’ve been really fortunate to be able to travel with my family to a number of fun places my entire life. We’ve traveled to Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, and California – and have tons of photos to prove it! Most recently, we traveled to Morocco and France – to add an international component to our adventures. That has to be my favorite vacation – probably because it’s the most recent, but also because the experience in Marrakech was truly a treat for all of the senses (e.g., the salmon-colored architecture; the glorious olives, dates and other foods sold at the Djemma el Fna; the sounds of bartering at the souk (market)).

Part of the reason why I enjoy photography so much is that it allows me to capture precious memories that would have otherwise been forgotten (that and the fact that we are a family of hams who never met a camera that we didn’t love or that didn’t bring out our inner cheese/goof ball).

Throughout the years, I’ve graduated from a film SLR camera to a DSLR camera and the technology is convenient; but the basic principle remains the same – recording our memories. Can’t wait for the next family adventure!

Thanks for the opportunity to comment/share and enter your giveaway!

    Best,
    Robin

One of the best places I have ever vacationed was the little town of Orosei in Sardinia. I stayed there with a couple of my girl friends in a cottage that we rented from an Italian family. We were the only tourists in the whole town it seemed. It was so beautiful to see the Italian culture preserved and untouched tourism. I would do anything to go back there and photograph its people again.

My favourite place to vacation is a tie between Rome and Salzberg. I went in winter about 5 years ago and was swept up by the architecture, culture and food of Rome; the magic of Italy present in every sight and smell. Salzberg is my other choice because the people were just so lovely and accommodating (that and the Sound of Music tour – twee but great).

My favourite vacation spot is Risoul in the Alps. It’s a small skiing resort but with a ski pass you can ski in the whole Risoul and Vars domain which is one of the biggest in the Southern Alps. It’s our family spot for Christmas and I wouldn’t change that tradition for anything in the world. We pretty much know everyone there and it’s fun to catch up every year.

(it must be a French thing, going to a place and enjoying knowing everyone, for a great example of how that works there is a film called “Camping” and it’s brilliant!)

  507. Kathy says:

So, so beautiful! I could really use this for my upcoming trip to Mexico.

I love Petra, Rome, Granada, Jaiselmer in Rajasthan, the Sri Lankan coast, the Lost City in Colombia. I adore New York and Vancouver Island. Best vacation? I honestly couldn’t choose between any of these places. But the best vacation I ever took was at home in Paris, two summers ago. The kids were with my parents in London, my husband worked all day and I wandered around this city I now call home with my camera, seeking out side streets and hidden parks and unexpected views.

When you’ve got used to a city and learned to call it home, getting to know it in a different way is like falling in love all over again.

Our spot is Khao Lak, Thailand – an area on the mainland that was hit the worst from the Tsunami. We have a lovely resort we stay at (the Haadson), in which the owners can tell you an amazing story of surviving the Tsunami (but losing their dog). The white sand beach goes on for miles with few tourists, the water is clean and warm, the local restaurants serve up good food, so good Royalty stops in for lunch sometimes. A quick ride on a motorbike takes you into the nearest town Tacquapa. We loved it so much that we got married there. :)

  563. Elizabeth says:

My favorite vacation thus far has been the Lagos del Atitlan in Guatemala. It’s a magical place, a mountain lake nestled in the shadow of 3 volcanos. 585. abbersnail says:

My favorite vacation spot is Topsail Island, North Carolina. We spent a week there nearly every summer of my childhood, hanging out on nearly empty beaches, collecting the bizarrely large number of shark teeth that had washed up on the beach. We would eat hushpuppies and soft shell crabs at a local dive, where a trio played covers of country songs.
Thanks for the giveaway – these bags are unbelievably gorgeous!

  586. Melissa says:

My favorite vacation spot so far has been Costa Rica. We spent a week on a remote black-sand beach on the Caribbean side, and it was magical!

  590. Tara says:

I love to visit my hometown – Kennett Square, PA. After leaving to go to college, I spent my breaks at home re-discovering the town and surrounding picturesque countryside. Every fall there is a mushroom festival (Kennett Square is the mushroom capital of the world!), and being able to photograph the local produce, piles of portabellas, is so refreshing.

  595. Sarah says:

My favorite place to spend a leisurely week is Newport, Rhode Island. It can be a bit too touristy in the summer months, but it is an undiscovered gem of a getaway in the fall or winter. Something about a frigid, icy beach feels like home to me. There are dozens of adorable shops, countless restaurants, beautiful old homes and mansions, and wonderful people.

  596. Lisa says:

Sa Riera, Catalunya, Spain is my favorite spot. It is a small fishing village and holiday resort situated in a secluded bay of the Costa Brava. Just beautiful and the local food is great.

  597. Jennifer says:

I had heard all the nightmare stories about it being too touristy, too crowded, too dirty, but I went in November a few years ago on a solo trip and it was heaven. 618. One of my favorite places to vacation in the summer is Seward, Alaska. I am fortunate to have a father in law who owns a sea kayak tour company and is also a mountaineer. For a week or two I get to leave the city I love (portland, OR!!), and am able to reconnect with a part of myself that thrives seeing sea otters, glaciers, humpback whales, bears (yikes!), and mountains that project directly out of the ocean. It puts me in a place where I am a guest, it’s humbling, it’s breathtaking, and it’s fragile. I can’t welcome those feelings enough. every time i leave alaska i feel appreciative of a planet i sometimes take for granted.

  619. Sandy says:

    Love the bag!!

I’m traveling this weekend to one of my favorite places, Laguna Beach for my 30th birthday. My boyfriend and I live in the LA area but it’s such a beautiful place and a great weekend getaway… I was named after the beach so how could I not want to stay there for this huge milestone b-day.

  622. Wow – what great bags! Hard to choose just one place since I love to travel, but I like to get away to the North Coast near Mendocino, CA at least once a year. It’s quiet, relaxing and a great place to go spend time with family or get away as a couple. Many photo opportunities, too!

  623. Emily says:

Last year I took a vacation away from family. A girlfriend and I went to Positano in June for 5 days. I’ve never been a morning person but with there I was up at 5:30 every morning watching the sun rise and the locals operating the pier start their day. It was so simple, so incredibly beautiful.

  640. tara torricelli says:

My favorite vacation spot is Sorrento…more specifically, Capo di Sorrento…sunning on the rocky Mediterranean shore just below the ruins of a roman villa. Magical.

  641. joy stclaire says:

Haven’t been many places & nothing exotic, but I LOVED Nova Scotia – wild and beautiful! I went there twice! In my dreams, the favorite spot? Paris of course!

  642. Tessa says:

I just went skiing for the first time at Whitetail and it was amazing! It happened to be snowing at the same time too and I don’t know what it is, but a thin layer of snow on everything just makes it look prettier.

The best vacation spot I’ve visited was Taormina, Sicily in June. Sunny and warm, but not without the torrential downpour either. Great!

  647. Carolina says:

Out of all the places I’ve been I am torn between the northern Cali coast, think Redwoods, and southern Utah red rock country, think Arches and Canyonlands! They are both so beautiful in their own ways and I love the endless photo possibilities in both places :)

  648. Sara says:

I love to be around the water, and I love my home state of Texas, so, I would have to say that my favorite vacation spot is most definitely Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas. Its so beautiful there and the locals are really laid back. Its the type of place you would want to retire to. It’s my little piece of heaven.

  649. alexandra says:

ah, i love!! as cheesy as it is, my favorite vacation spot is wherever my fiance is. we don’t see each other very often, and every time we do, we’re on vacation. it is so nice!!

  650. Caroline says:

I first have to start off by saying how great that bag is!
Now, to answer your question, my favorite vacation spot so far was Malta. Blue sky and sea, lovely town houses and old school busses for public transport, snorkeling… Because the island is so small, my holiday there felt like a city trip and relaxing beach holiday rolled into one. I would love to go back some day and recommend it to all my friends as a vacation spot.

  651. Jax says:

My favorite vacation spot dwells in the depths of my mind…there I can go anywhere, for however long. There nothing is constant, but always true. Where joy ignites me, peace fulfills me and beauty surrounds me at every turn. No cares, no worries, nothing but the splendid effervescence of my own my imagination.

  652. Oh my goodness, this would fix my problem that I’m facing! How to travel with my camera and still look trendy and hide the fact that I’m carrying a camera!
Favourite vacation spot that I’ve been to is so hard to pick…ummm Los Angeles. Favourite holiday spot I haven’t been to… New York or San Francisco. We just know San Fran would mesh with us very well.

  653. leaca says:

I love these bags. They are so cute.

My favorite vacation spot would have to be New York City. I live in Alaska and we kind of live our lives here in vacation mode. I swear that life gets more and more relaxed as you come west. I love the hustle and bustle of NYC. I love the shopping, sites, restaurants, shows, all of it. It is so different from here, and I love it here, but NYC is absolutely divine.

  654. Michelle says:

Oh wow – this bag is gorgeous! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

  655. Cat says:

i have been in search of a function, feminine camera bag for years. the emera is just what i am looking for, thank you.

i have quite a few vacation favorites, from the Hawaiian islands to Italy. the most magical moments were in the quaint and romantic town of Verona, (watching the opera Aida at the Arena di Verona) and swimming inside the Blue Grotto on the gorgeous island of Capri, Italy. scuba diving with sharks at sunset, off the mala wharf in maui, was pretty amazing as well!

  656. This is making me realize just how much I do need a vacation. I love visiting Europe and just outside of Florence in a tiny village called Marradi, was one of my most memorable vacations. Staying in any of the beautiful farmhouses surrounding Florence, and visiting the tiny villages in the vicinity = perfect.

And the bag = also perfect. Thanks Victoria!

  657. Irene says:

My favourite vacation? That’s difficult. I have many: Austrua because of the mountains, Ireland because of the emptiness and the beautiful nature and Venice because it is Venice :)

The camerabags look gorgeous. What a wonderful give-away!

  658. Kari says:

My favorite vacation was a road trip down to Santa Cruz. My girlfriends and I visited cute shops, walked on the sunny beach, ate delicious food (there’s a lovely crepe shop in Saratoga!) and had a wonderful time.

  663. kacie says:

One of my favorites is Death Valley in the spring, when the wild flowers push up through the dust and rocks to add their bright jewel tones to the earthy mountain tapestry.
Also London in the early fall when it isn’t to stuffy or cold and I can walk around and find treasure spots, like beneath the Indian Bean tree in the courtyard of St James on Piccadilly.
Thanks for the lovely giveaway, it looks like it will be well used by the lucky winner.

  664. My absolute favorite place for vacation is Hawaii! During our last time there we went to all the islands. Incredible! Favorites were the Big Island, Molokai, and Maui. But what we loved overall was how each island was so incredibly beautiful and different from one another. Ah, we dream of that place all that time and enjoy looking at all the photos. Next time we go, I’d love to have a brand new emera bag to bring with me. Please enter me into the contest. Thanks!

  665. la says:

In the past few years, the mountains of California have easily become my favorite vacation spot. Particularly, Yosemite, which is the same distance from the Bay as Tahoe, but completely underrated. My partner and I like to go backpacking through the high country where there are fewer people and many scenic spots for taking pictures, like the fields of flowers in Tuolumne Meadows. My DSLR is a veritable weight to add to a backpack with only life necessities in it, but the pictures are always worth it!

  666. natalyn says:

Right now, my favorite vacation spot is Savannah.

  667. Ginger says:

What an awesome bag and what a great giveaway! It’s been said before, but Paris is my current favorite city where I love to pass a few weeks in October. I rent an apartment and enjoy a different pace of life.

  668. GREAT giveaway…thanks for the chance!! When I was younger, my dad took us on many trips to the west coast. My most memorable trip was when we loaded up all 7 of us kids into our mega motor home and drive there. One stop along the way was the San Francisco bay area. I loved the creativity and talent that thrived there…musicians lined the streets with guitars or saxophones, playing their hearts out, and playing for money. We were a family who loved to sing (think the Von Trapp family), so we schemed a lovely scheme. We all dressed up in our matching Sunday best and sang our hearts out on the streets of San Francisco. Our innocent looking 4 yr old brother walked around with a tin can getting “donations” to help fund our trip…all $50 of it went to our dinner that evening. We quickly learned that we needed a permit in order to sing for money, so it was a short-lived moment, but one I will never EVER forget. Someday I will go back to San Francisco and take my own kids. (no singing this time)

  669. For our honeymoon (just this past August!), my husband and I went on a 3 week excursion all over Italy…it was insane. Insanely AMAZING, that is. The most relaxing, rejuvenating and vacation-like part was Cinque Terre, Italy. We spent almost a full week there (kept adding more time!) laying on huge rocks in the warm sun and swimming in the warm, perfectly clear ocean. It was incredible…

  670. Katie says:

Greece. The food, the beaches, the history, and I even love the tourist traps.

  671. Jess says:

Thanks for coming up with this fabulous giveaway! It’s just the sort of thing my DSLR longs for but would never buy for herself.

And thanks, too for all your wonderful postings–it takes the edge off my San Francisco longings. Odd how once you live there you never get over it, no matter how long you’ve left or how many promises you’ve made to return one day.

    So, here’s my vacation vote:

In the summer in Waupaca, Wisconsin I sleep in a tiny round trailer that perches on tiny round wheels in the backyard of my family’s lake house. Crafted in the ’30s, its round, port-holed cuteness is straight out of a Disney cartoon, with fold-away, stow-away, hide-away everythings and beds that transform into tables and chairs. On summer mornings I stumble forth from my cartoon sleeping spot and yank my still-damp swimsuit off the line–it smells of cold water, a limp weight of lake in my hand–and shiver into it, anticipating my swim out to Esther Williams Island and back, anticipating even more the sunny afternoon when I will retreat to the screened porch of the boat house, bright in its crisp blues and yellow, cheery as children’s book illustrations. There I will read all the books of my past–follow Will Stanton’s quests, thrill to Trixie Belden’s most mysterious case ever, swoon over Betsy Ray’s excursion to the Great World…and then I may nap, lulled into drowsy contentment by the wind come over water and through leaves. But I’ll not rest long, looking forward yet to barbecues and miniature golf, canoeing and sailing the Chain O’Lakes: twenty-two cold, clear, spring-fed siblings connected by channels, set bright in a setting of thick twisty woods. Convinced more and more each day that the harshest cost of adulthood is when your endless summer’s reduced to two weeks, but grateful that this magical place can turn a grown woman into a ten year old kid again. And while the rest of the year I long to visit all the nooks and crannies of the Great World, every July I circle the calendar in red and wait for a return to my childhood heart’s home.

  672. Sarah says:

The Greek Isles!! There’s this place tucked into one of the isles where a cave is jutting out of the water about 20 feet in the air. The perfectly blue water is VERY deep but so clear you can see the bottom. The game is this: Jump. Dive. Make an impressive splash. It’s absolutely FABULOUS, and I only wish there were more getaways like it.

But Beijing, China isn’t too shabby either. :-)

  673. Nicole H. says:

Panama City Beach, St. Andrews State Park. With crystal blue water and man made jetties. We take the kids and camp there several times a year on weekends.. The water is great for snorkling and my children have such a great time, looking at all the beautiful fish. THey offer scuba lessons and people surf there on the other side. There is also several nature trails that include alligators and deer. Great family time spent enjoying what nature has to offer. Total trip cost us about 250 which includes food, camp site and gas and we live in Tennessee.

  674. Stephanie says:

My favorite vacation spot that I’ve ever been to is Cinque Terra in Italy. It was so beautiful, fun and relaxing all at the same time. And had the beach and the mountains because I don’t like to choose. There are many more places in this world I’d like to go and see too!

  675. Sarah G says:

Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. Not only is the landscape stunning – the island is home to a large number of artists and you can tour many of the studios. Also, there is an amazing Farmer’s Market where I bought hand-rolled vegetarian sushi. And there are sheep all over the island and you know what that means: yarn!

  676. Janelle says:

I’ve never been, but I’m dying to take a trip to Paris. I spend too much time looking at other people’s lovely photos of their trips there, I want to go and take some photos of my own!
Other than that, I’d have to say my husband’s grandparents’ house in Florida. The live right on the beach, and I love spending an afternoon reading on the porch, just enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves.

  677. regan says:

  680. Sharona says:

Healdsburg, California…in the heart of wine country and a beautiful short drive away from the ocean and Tomales Bay, for fresh oysters right on the water…

  681. Holly says:

my favorite trip I ever took was to the Normandy region of France… it is so beautiful there, especially the little town called Dinan, with it’s cobbled streets and stone walls around the city. and just to make the trip perfect, we spent time in Paris on the way home. :)

  682. karley says:

door county, wisconsin. lake michigan! friday fish boils! beer! cheese! family! every single summer as a child my family would go to door county. there are no holiday inns or mcdonalds, all small businesses and beautiful state parks. oh, the memories. :)

My very favorite vacation spot is not only ONE place. The best is, to BE on vacation. For me to travel means getting new impressions and experience. Traveling is like a never ending source of inspiration. But surely I never ever will forgot me trip in the tarot garden of Nici de Saint Phalle, which is located in the region Tuscany of Italy. This place is like walking in a dreamworld. :)

  691. Lynne Rutter says:

i have no one favorite vacation spot, because when i travel i am not necessarily on vacation. i love to look into every palace, museum, church, villa, house, library, graveyard, or wherever i might find some great decorative art for inspiration, and having my camera with me a large part of that experience. would love to get back to budapest soon.

  692. Kyle Knight says:

My fav vacation spot is Paris! I’ll be heading there in May and would LOVE to have this bag for my big ol’ camera.

  693. camille says:

i loved vacationing in chicago. great food, transportation & city life. can’t wait to go back.

  694. My favorite vacation spot is South Lake Tahoe, CA. The lake is beautiful and the people are gracious and friendly. There are so many activities to do for both children and adults. South Lake Tahoe in the summer is perfect – you can wear a swimsuit and relax on the beach, or go boating in the pristine lake. All the while, the snow capped mountains of the Sierra makes the scene even more surreal. And, it is very affordable. Plan well and you will have a splendid time on a budget. =)

  695. Lia says:

First, I have to say I love comment #675 by Jess. What a great description!

Second, I have had many countless adventures and seen many beautiful places, but it is the coast and culture of Northern and Southern California that I have loved to visit since childhood. I have fallen in love with San Francisco & Oakland where I have family; Steinbeck’s industrious Salinas Valley; and the beaches of Ventura, Malibu, and Santa Monica, where I go when I visit my brother and his family.
There’s something about the dreamy light (air pollution, perhaps?), the salty air of the Pacific, and a seeming magic about the land of In-N-Out Burgers that California holds for me. I could never live there, as the spell would be broken (as would my wallet). But I always, always love visiting.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

Though I no longer own a car, i would have to say my favorite vacation spot is in the car. Even now when we’re too overwhelmed with the city, we rent a car and run away in one direction or another and with no particular destination in mind. We try to get lost and away from anywhere we recognize and then set up camp somewhere before returning back to our normal lives.

My favorite place that we have vacationed to was actually Montana. We slept in a cabin in the woods, and even though we were there for a beautiful island wedding (in the woods! Gorgeous!) it was still a great vacation. The air was crisp and clean, and the trees smelled so good, plus being by the water was so great, even though we went in March, so it wasn’t swimming season. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

My favorite place to vacation to would be Siena, Italy…it’s fairly low-key, not too many tourists, and very close to Florence and lots of other little Tuscan hill towns. I spent two months there and it was pure heaven…

  699. new zealand! went there for my honeymoon :)

Favourite place is Port Macquarie, I always taken there by my parents when I was smaller and now we take our 4 kangaroos. But really, anywhere with family is nice.

My favorite is Cuba. You don’t need any luggage there, only your eyes, a camera and your emara-bag!

My vacation ideas are not always well received. We checked into Calistoga Spa Hot Springs on a raw March evening after a long drive. The family grumbled at the well used 70′s decor, the hard but squeaky beds and the modest TV. I escaped and shivered down the dark path to check out the mineral pool and exhaled to sink myself into the depths of the thick and steamy goodness. When it started to snow, I felt like I must be a snow monkey.

My fav vacation spot is at the cabin. Just sitting back relaxing by the fire and enjoying delicious meals there with my family and friends. Love taking walks down through the woods in the trails with my camera going on an adventure snapping pics of whatever I can. There is an awesome junk yard in the woods filled with really old cars. It’s just amazing down there! Thanks for the chance to win! I’ve been searching online for a nice camera bag for my new DSLR and fell in love with this one! Happy New Year!

This bag would be perfect for my family. We take our camera EVERYWHERE to capture moments while our children are so young and growing quickly. My favorite vacation place is where my husband and I married, Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We can’t wait to take our two littles there someday.
