vintage finds for a modern world: etsy love.

i love the rain. i really do. but i do hate when it washes out my flea market adventures. so, when in dire need (yes, it is a need!) for some unique vintage finds, i turn to etsy! plus, the items occasionally come wrapped beautifully, with ephemera in the form of sweet little thank you notes, tucked in with the packages. you don’t get that at the flea market! i thought i’d share some of my favorite, and most recent vintage shop discoveries on etsy.

i also recently discovered new dominion blues, a wonderful vintage etsy shop, where i swooped up these lovely ball jelly jars. i’ve never seen vintage jars quite like this before!

i love ethanollie’s trampoline, where i found a beautiful pharmaceutical mortar and pestle, and the sweet english ironstone planter to hatch some paperwhite bulbs for spring.

and, last but not in any way least, from jenny penny vintage i fell in love with these fun chemistry beakers. a set of three in various sizes look really great displayed with a simple single stem in each. thanks for helping out a girl in vintage need, etsy.

I love finding new vintage shops, thanks for sharing!
Awesome finds! I love the beakers, I have been very into vintage science things lately. Thanks for sharing :)
love the finds! I’m going to have to check out the etsy vintage flea market! I’m hoping to get to the Alameda flea market this Sunday (beginning of every month) as long as it doesn’t rain!
Chemistry beakers get me every time. Every. Single. Time. I’m such a science geek. Etsy is definitely a wonderful way to spend a rained-in weekend.
Love the finds!
oh man, we’re bursting at the seams with knick knacky vintage props but i can’t wait to check out all these etsy stores now – thanks!!
Wow, what great finds!! I will definitely be checking their shops out for vintage items…Thank you so much for sharing!!
oh WOW…love me some etsy…I was at a dinner party last month, and the hostess sent us home with paperwhites that she forced in antique bell jars. I’ve been looking for some. Love love love this blog.
I have noticed of late that there are some great vintage pieces on Etsy. Shame that most of it is only shipped in the US :(
Great finds! I love etsy, but I sometimes think it’s frustrating to browse through a lot of boring and not to my taste-stuff before finding something god!
You should also check out Katie Armour Home. Great stuff, great prices. Here is a link to my post covering her Etsy site. http://decorartsnow.com/2010/02/08/february-8-2010-introducing-new-etsy-shop-katie-armour-home/
