guest post: Hit the Road With Rearranged Design.

Hello! My name is Ana and normally you can find me over at Rearranged Design but today I’m filling in for Victoria.

A little bit about me; I’m a Scorpio, I move around quite a bit, I like Star Trek and I love Winnebago’s. My dream would be to trick out an Airstream and make it a sewing studio, or get a teardrop trailer and cruise around the states visiting all the oddball tourist attractions like the biggest ball of twine or Carhenge.

I was actually talking about this with my Mom last week and she said “Oh, I’d love an Airstream for a studio!” So maybe it’s genetic? Maybe they’re just appealing to all walks of life? Sometimes I see old RV’s for sale and think, oh man I’d love to paint that and sell cupcakes out of it…am I alone in that? Whenever I see a trailer or Winnebago I usually circle back and take some pictures. I moved to Seattle a few months ago and I spotted my first Winny:

This unrequited love prompted me to purchase my very own Winnebago as a birthday gift to myself last year.

OK, so it’s not very big but hey! Size doesn’t matter right? hmph…

It’s kinda perfect though, with the orange plastic interior it’s easy to clean, I just need to find that ray gun from ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ and I’ll be in business.

Thank you for letting me indulge in my little RV obsession and a big Thank You to Victoria for inviting me to ramble on.

I too have a dream of an airstream art studio, but I don’t think you and I are related, so maybe it’s something else other than dna.

    Your little winnebago is awesome.

I hope you paint really really really small, though.

I love your little Winnebago, the green on the outside is one of my favorite shades and don’t get me started on the orange interior! My daughter moved to Seattle last September. Fabulous city, VERY different weather from us here in Phoenix. Sadly, she’ll be gone the entire summer, which I hear is the best part!

I have also been dreaming for years of a cool vintage airstream turned into a studio/gallery/retail space…heaven! And as a side note…I live just a few miles from that large ball of twine…it’s quite the sight!:)

I have dreamt of touring my country (canada), and the continent in my very own winnebago since I was a little girl. When my mother would ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up this would be my reply. That and being an artist.
Photography my medium, something that goes along very nicely with road trips I might add. Sigh….one day.

  5. The interior of this Winnebago looks like a barbie house, only better because it is totally customizable! It also reminds me of the movie Kiss Me, Stupid with Dean Martin. Polly ‘The Pistol’ lived in similar quarters. I would love to see a blog about female artists’ or travelers’ living/working/traveling spaces. It’s fascinating!
