i’ll tumblr for ya.

via nice room.
i’m gonna be straight out honest here. i may run a blog, but i’m not very tech-savvy. i make it up as i go along, learning in the process. and for the life of me, i can’t quite figure out how to use tumblr. i tried, and this is as far as i got!

via sweet home style.
i like looking at all the pretty pictures, though. so, anyhow, here’s some wonderful imagery i found via a few tumblr sites, like this and this tumblr site (and thanks go out to lauren & derek of the curiosity shoppe for sending these tumblr pages my way. those two know what i like!).

via nice room.

via notions of exile and sleep.

great pics – tumblr actually pretty easy if you imagine that it’s basically a blog within a blog. mine is here: http://designsketchpad.tumblr.com/
that made me so happy to read! i considered myself super tech-savvy and thought i’d try it out too, but i have yet to figure out how tumblr really works! we’ll get it…eventually, and then something else will come out that we’ll have to start!
Love the gold cup next to the SX70 in the 3rd last photo. Pretty cool. I love space updates like this!
actually – there is something NEW, and i’m going to share it with you tomorrow – stay tuned to a brand new “blog it forward’ with new technology! :)
Wow! So many gorgeous pieces and arrangements. The plates on the kitchen wall work so beautifully. And reclaimed wood (or at least rustic in appearance) tables are the best. I was recently seeking a big piece of wood to use in building a bench with hairpin legs for the front porch. My husband just happened to have the perfect piece hiding behind the shed. Lucky Day! Now we just need the legs to arrive.
Haha I totally feel you on the tumblr issue! Everyone else makes it look so easy. These shots are great!
oh gosh I’m so hooked on tumblr. I see a few of my faves up there and thanks for introducing me to a few great new ones as well! I started a tumblr blog just for storing and sharing my interior inspirations here: http://prettyspace.tumblr.com
The pictures are totally kewl! Tumblr is sort of neat, a little different tho. Here’s mine: http://aneccentricmagnolia.tumblr.com/
I think the concept of “blog it forward” is a smashing one!
i like to think of tumblr as a visual twitter.
here’s mine: http://jodimckee.tumblr.com/
you have some great pictures there!
Have you checked out Mary Ruffle? Her tumblr is one of the most inspiring I have found so far!
http://maryruffle.tumblr.com/
Also, I tried tumblr once, but I didn’t like it very much. I think the problem is that everyone is reposting and reposting until it is impossible to track back to the original source. Just keep it in mind! :)
i’m with you on the tumblr thing, i just don’t get it. can it be compared to flickr?
oh victoria victoria… your blog was music to my ears!!!!it’s good to know that someone as yourself, who is so accomplished, is also not so savvy at all this computer stuff. i’m a fifty something trying to get my mojo back (in this high tech world) after years of raising my children , and now i feel there’s hope for me!!! thanks for the confession!
I think you are pretty dang amazing for not being a techi. I am loving those incredibly high ceilings and that swing in the photo via live, laugh and love. Wish I could pop into that room for a swing ride and some inspiration.
You found some great tumblrs! I use mine to bookmark things instead of filling up my bookmarks or having to write things down…It’s also fun to see all of my inspiration in one place. I can definitely see colors/themes at different times. http://inklore.tumblr.com/
i love tumblr, too, and my rooms seem to show up on there a lot, but i’m with you – no idea really how it works. i think you found some excellent images — love that swing, love the grey, love the ‘paris apt’ feel of that room with the chevron parquet . . . lovely.
i’m not sure what it is but i am having a hard time with tumblr also. i just can’t figure it out. the comments posted are helpful + encouraging. will be sifting through those! : )
thanks for sharing!
The title of your post made me smile and giggle a little. Thanks for that :)
agree, I find it complicated and not straight forward, I use it though to store pretty photos
Love your picks!
I’m definitely not tech savvy and trying hard to figure out tumblr also–I’m sort of wishing I started my blog on blogspot :(
Ohh, check out these lovely little honey bottle sippy cups…I think you’ll like them.

Lovely, lovely photos!
Here’s a trick I’ve found to make Tumblr a bit easier – add the bookmarklet. Find it here: http://www.tumblr.com/goodies, drag it up to your tool bar, and then when you see something awesome on the internets that you just have to share, click that button. It’ll bring up a little window with tabs along the top – choose whichever one coincides with what you’re sharing (photo, video, etc) and create the post! The nice thing is, it will automatically link to the source for you!
i love how these vaguely remind me of my grandmothers house
um yes please:
14. i have mean crushes on jon stewart, clive owen
yummm!
these are all so lovely! I don’t get tumblr either.
Ilove tumblr too…but these photos make me want to flea market shop
Oh goodness–I’ve gone batty trying to figure out Tumblr. It’s so stinking cool though!!! grrrr
beautiful pix-I’m glad I’m not that only one who finds tumblr a bit confusing. looking forward to learning more about blog it forward.
i’m so glad i’m not the only one who finds tumblr challenging. but tomorrow, i will introduce a brand new site, that makes faving easy-peasy! :)
thanks fr the beautiful tumblr links. i gt int tumblr a few months ago & love it! not sure if i use it crrectly… but i love it to share my fave photos. http://karibombari.tumblr.com/
Great pictures! thanks for sharing with us :)
I’m on tumblr a week o so, now. And just love it! It’s the easiest way to blog for us. They are beautiful templates provided. We use it for our collection of inspirations. Our tumblrs are http://nauli-nauli.tumblr.com and one for kids-related ideas http://littlenauli.tumblr.com
i love tumblr! i dont think there’s anything to “get” – just post like you do on any ole blog! or just put up tons of inspirational pics :)
beeeeees.tumblr.com
bethany – well a few of us seem to find it tricky to navigate. but plenty of people get it, so who knows. maybe it’s just us. :)
oh, how i love all of these. all. sigh.
hiya, will you credit the desk with the gold mug and polaroid camera to me (it’s my last apartment, i styled it….i’m a stylist), when you have a sec?
loved seeing it here. steal all you want:)
you can credit me at: http://www.thebrasspetal.com
Thanks!
emily – done! and beautiful room! and blog! thank you for providing the proper link! :)
Lindsey already mentioned it, but the Tumblr toolbar redeems any shortcoming or uncertainty. And it absolutely is a visual Twitter. The Tumblr app for iPhone is another reason to believe.
I am not much of a blogger, but I use my Tumblr (Domestic Adaptation) as an online scrapbook of sorts. While you may not be sold on Tumblr, I am glad you explored it because I love the images you pulled. As always, your eye is fantastic. Thanks Victoria!
First of all, I am so glad to know I am not the only tech skill-deprived longtime blogger. Second, if you can pincushion, you can tumble! You are probably thinking it’s harder than it actually is, though it looks as though you have the hang of it! Be sure to install the “Share on Tumblr” button to your toolbar as mentioned above – it makes everything a cinch and cuts out all the annoying steps one would usually have to make with photos!
thanks for that! i’ll have to check that out more carefully!
i don’t completely understand tumblr. but i use it as an inspiration board. Also my husband checks it so i leave him notes on the things i would really like to do with the house we can chat about ideas…and i tumbl here
http://kindasorta.tumblr.com/
I love Tumblr! At first I had no idea what was going on, but now I am crazily addicted! I use it as a personal inspiration blog for myself, I just keep it full of pretty pictures that make me happy and follow a bunch of people who post pictures I love to look at. I think it’s been said, but it is like a visual twitter- just think of reblogging other people’s posts as retweets. And the ‘Share on Tumblr’ button for your toolbar is a definite must!
