guest post: good measure.
today, sam from the lovely good measure (aka inklore) is taking us on a shopping trip in santa cruz today!
A few months ago I was in downtown Santa Cruz, getting ready to head home after visiting a few favorite spots, when I turned down a different street and unexpectedly found a gem of a shop. Stripe recently celebrated its first birthday, and it is absolutely my new favorite shop.
A fantastic store front display first lured me in, but every square inch of the space is full of unique items, artfully displayed, making it impossible to simply stop in for just a moment. This shop makes me want to linger in every nook. It is a masterful combination of mid-century modern furniture finds, vintage ceramics and handbags mixed with the best of today’s small designer labels.
Visiting Stripe is like reading your favorite design blogs in person, and finding something new each time you visit.
Oh my goodness, I love this store!! I just went on their website and they seem so fun and unique! I would love to visit in person!

I have to agree. I was there earlier this spring, and I found lots of great stuff. This is one of those “the more you look, the more you see” kind of places.

Santa Cruz is my hometown and when I discovered this store on a visit I was so happy. I was just did a photo shoot with a local designer and they were wonderful to us. I also picked up a gorgeous shirt while I was there : ) It’s one of those stores you can spend hours in.

easily my favorite store in santa cruz, and living oh… three blocks away doesn’t hurt either (except for the effect on my wallet!)… i stop in at least twice a month, always greeted by a wonderful staff, unique visual merchandising, and usually twenty things i want to buy right off the bat. i’ve decorated my feet, my house, my ears, my mom, myself & my girlfriends all in goodies from stripe :) love that you guys recognized this wonderful little gem on walnut!

Can you all recommend some other must stop at thrift/furniture stores in Santa Cruz? I’m going for the first time and cant’ wait to check out the thrifting, flea markets, vintage stores, etc. Thanks!
