a room with a view.

tucked away in the isle of wight, is this dreamy little cottage, complete with a veranda with view of the sea. ahhhh, can you imagine running away to hide out in this little place? after the hectic week i’ve had, i’m on my way there in my head as fast as my imagination can take me! discovered via light locations, this tiny summerhouse is secluded in a lush little setting beside a pond, with lilypads even! i’m off to dream — see you all tomorrow!

i could spend my summer there … reading & dreaming & taking photos … picnics & candle lit dinners … wonderful & perfect … & can i have one?
oh my god…i really want to run away there right NOW…just me and the mister! i could use a break from my family…uugh

It looks absolutely heavenly!
How did you *find* this website?? The company offering these places for rent, now I understand how these photo shoots have such fabulous places! If I were rich I’d book one of these random quirky places or really old looking farms! What a fun site to stumble upon, thank you!! :)
it’s a dream cottage, isn’t it?
maja – i used to be an art buyer, and scouted locations, so i heard about them through my previous job. :)
Ooh WOW! what a lovely, dreamy place :)

So wish I was here right now. How peaceful and beautiful. I can even smell the fresh air!
It is dreamy. I got a stash of architectural salvage from a free pile behind an antique collective the other day. Marcel and I are planning to build a fort for him in the backyard. After seeing this cottage I’m tempted to make myself a “fort” too!
So, so, so beautiful! Makes me dreaming of better times :)
What a wonderful, beautiful, little hideaway!
oh that’s so gorgeous!!!!!
Love it. I want to have one built in my backyard…By the way love love love your blog…
just LOVELY! this inspired me to do a local cabin search but everything was too boring-cabin-y. would anyone happen to know of a website with cute, quirky cabin rentals? preferably local to los angeles. :)
I absolutely love when people transform small little places like this. It’s very charming and romantic, and the colors they chose are beautiful.
I love that they used scrap architectural elements. I am going to build a space like this someday. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Lovely! Have you ever seen tumbleweed cottages? This reminds me of them. So tiny. The size really draws me in and makes me want to slow down.
This looks like a piece of heaven! i could curl up and read a book sipping fruit mint tea!. Thanks so much for sharing this place of peace.
what about snakes? Are there any there? Some people are afraid of dogs; I am of snakes. I love the house and the location. It’s like a dream doll house.
Ha! Until I read post 38 I thought I was the only one thinking about the critters – mosquitos, frogs, snakes, creepy crawlies! Adorable cottage, but I’d skip the swamp! :-)
This place is divine…Victoria did you take the pictures?nice work!
marita – oh, heavens no! i wish. this is in the UK, by light locations.
the creepy critters never occurred to me! i guess i’m not that afraid of bugs and things. :)
I just love little homes I will need to build one.:)
