i saw a tweet about this amazing quilt (in my head, i’m hearing rachel zoe saying ‘buh-nanas’!), and i simply had to share. okay, now the even more incredible part? this was illustrator and cartoonist jillian tamaki’s first embroidery project!! she’s teaching herself, and made this ‘monster-themed’ mini quilt as part of her learning process. i might as well just throw my embroidery needles out now. wow. just wow. for more awesome pics, visit jillian’s blog.

Wow. I’ve been wanting to take up embroidery for a while now, and have no idea what it really entails so I’m going to take this as inspiration and not discouragement!

This really reminds me of Mariska Karasz’s embroidery. I saw a show of her work that knocked me on my ass!
