tuesday’s girl: style me!

so, ummm, this is a self-indulgent little post — i’m just admitting that right away. i tweeted the other evening about breaking out in cold sweat about dressing myself for a very special dinner party i’ve been invited to by the elle decor showcase house. i am normally just capable enough to get myself out the door without embarrassing myself too much, but an event like this, with people i admire, well, i get a bit nervous about a fashion faux pas!

well, a lot of you tweeted back and emailed with some great ensemble suggestions, but stylist joanna to of the blog i’d rather be shopping took it to a whole new level, creating mood boards for me, with styling tips and tons of options for my anthropologie marilyn dress, including shoes and jewelry. and they were all perfectly fabulous!

this was so much fun, and so well pulled together, i just had to share joann’s talents with y’all. which look is your favorite?  thanks again for all your fun suggestions and thanks so much to joann for such great inspiration! check out i’d rather be shopping for more styling inspiration! and if you’d like to know about joann’s styling services, simply click on the ‘contact me’ link at the top of her webpage.

we had a last minute change up, when i discovered the dinner party may be held outside, and could be more business casual since folks will be arriving directly from the office, soooo, to dress things down a bit, i’m going with a black cardigan over my shoulders, and some chunky gold bracelets, and a nice clutch. so this is my final look!

the final look: 1.  j.crew chiffon-placket cardigan, ~  2.  sparrow marilyn dress ~  3.  blu bijoux ribbons and chains bracelet ~  4.  anthropologie pearl bud bracelet ~  5.  betsey johnson calandra pumps ~ ( j.crew earrings & chinese laundry clutch are no longer available).

like some of the other looks you see above? you can find all of the shoes and accessories right here:

1.  kenneth jay lane 22-karat gold plated cocktail ring ~  2.  tuleste market orbital necklace ~  3.  marni bauble embellished chain necklace ~  4.  marni double strand necklace ~  5.  sam edelman fiorenza pump ~  6.  pour la victoire irina hidden platform pumps ~ 7.  madewell ice cluster bib necklace ~  8.  elie tahari melody bib necklace ~  9.  gerard yosca meteorite ring ~  10.  tinley road three layer necklace ~  11.  jean-michel cazabat penny suede wedge heels ~  12.  sigerson morrison zip choked suede pumps ~  13.  elizabeth and james leona chiffon open toe pumps ~ 14.  sorelli triangle bib necklace ~  15.  j.crew crystal winged cluster necklace ~  16.  fenton/fallon for j.crew carrington crystal bow necklace ~ 17.  marni petal embellished chain necklace ~  18.  ann taylor faceted cluster ribbon necklace.
