with the holidays fast approaching, i think we’d all like to have some kind of cozy guest room, available to friends and family when they come to visit. i mean, having guests is great and all, but when they’re sacked out on your living room sofa snoring, and you’re tripping over their suitcases and finding their pj’s hanging from the chandelier, well you kinda wish for a room of their own. i thought i’d hunt down some comfy little rooms i’d like my guests to feel at home in.
it would be nice to leave a little gift bag, loaded up with candles, nice-smelling soaps and shampoos in a sweet bag on the bed, and some bedtime reading on the pillows. emma cassi, via design*sponge (above). and i think it’s nice to leave it simple and uncluttered with your own belongings, so guests feel at home to leave their own things strewn about (below), via ATLITW.
perhaps leaving out some comfy slippers is a comforting idea, via emma’s design blog.
load them up with lots of creature comforts — yummy blankets and soft pillows, via light locations (above), and below from pure green.
fresh cut flowers are always a nice idea to make a room feel homey and welcoming, via birch and lily.

I would take any of these for my own room, let alone for/as a guest! Lovely – the grey room, the bed by the window with the amazing chandelier (!!) & the bed in the eaves especially did me in.

oh wow sleeping in any of these rooms would be wonderful! i would love to have a guest room to do up for my family and friends to stay.

Wonderful post, Victoria. I also love how Dara Caponigro {domino mag} has a pedestal sink and mirror in her guest room. For years, I have plotted how to make that work in my house…beautiful spaces you’ve shared! Thank you. :)
