tuesday’s girl: a new uniform.

cavern cape.
i am trying to get dressed in 2011. don’t laugh, i’m not a nudist. i’m just a pj-wearing blogger way more than i should be. i’m trying to clean out my closets and wear things that i feel good in, and i think represent my sense of style and taste. naysayers be damned, this is what i like to wear! i keep track of my favorite fashionistas on pinterest and thought this tuesday’s girl i’d share a peek at this year’s uniform.

these are a fun take on the bootie, from anthro; which would be quite cute with faded denim (i’m always gonna be the girl in jeans); mix in this pretty little bracelet from anthropologie; and i just love this polka-dotted shell from anthropologie.

i’m always inspired by designs from uniform natural.

love these ‘bow looks’ from juliette hogan, and a sweet collar from Eryn Brinie at madewell. i’d like to mix up that girlishness with some cute oxfords.

guess i’m really into bows lately, and this camisole is no exception, from minna.

love this look, via the sartorialist.

i like the look of this striped shirt under a cropped sweater; i live in my tretorn fleece-lined rainboots with leggings when at the dog park; love this recycled tote from forest bound; and j’adore warby parker specs (and their handy dandy at home try-on policy).

a sequin bomber jacket can really add sparkle to a plain jane outfit.

love this made-to-order tunic dress from emily ryan; cute with a suede boots from jcrew, and a sweet striped beanie.

I love it all! If you were my sister I’d snag these out of your closet ; )
I’ve seen lots of etsy sellers creating those leather beaded wrap bracalets over the past year. I think they are so lovely. Bohemian yet chic!
such a great uniform. it feels so good to go through your closet and only keep the very best.
looks great, victoria! it’s hard to not want to be in comfy pj’s all day, right? i’m always in jeans. my friend asked me one day, “do you only wear flats and jeans?”…she wasn’t impressed because she hadn’t ever seen me in a skirt/dress/heels. haha.
I love those picks. There is just the right amount of pretty, but with some handsome edges.

I love your fashion posts – I was literally just looking at the anthro shell shirt in the new catalog. And thanks for turning me on to Warby Parker, I am so excited about their “at home try on” policy. Ordering some today!
I’m swooning over all of your picks. I’d wear EVERY one of them. Just perfect!
thanks, girls! :)
samantha – it is awesome. they sent me five pairs to try on at home, and then you simply send them back with your prescription, or order later. :)
ooh! lovely! good luck getting dressed…man, if i don’t have anywhere to be, i’m always in pj’s.
LOVE the looks. I have a hard time getting showered and dressed unless I’m going somewhere. I love my pj’s!
Those grey suede boots are just my style!
Great post! I just did the Big Closet Clean-Out last month. This year I am dressing for the life I *want* to have– and as you note, naysayers be damned!
p.s. I have Warby Parker glasses and that Emilyryan tunic dress. Highly recommend both! :)
I have an Emily Ryan dress that I love… really well made and she was a delight to work with, even switched up the fabric for me.
Lovely picks! I especially love the bracelet and the striped hat!
So true: When I work from home [basically everyday], I sit around in my PJs all day. I made a resolution to start getting dressed everyday — hasn’t happened yet…love the uniform!
love everything about all of these looks!
Haha–I was in my pjs working hard in my office until 3pm today and a handyman was here too– a little embarrassing-i have that chan luu bracelet and love it–your picks are superb-love the jeans and the polkadot top–have fun getting dressed this year!
I have those tretorn boots in silver and everyone calls them my “moon boots”! I love them and look forward to mud and rain so I can wear them. Today it barely drizzled, but I kept them on all day.
I’m totally obsessed with the shoes in the Uniform Collection photo now!!
Love them all!
The shoes from Uniform Collection are fantastic, I’d think I’d wear that outfit everyday, super choices, thanks for the links!
still working up the courage to try out a pair of oxfords! i think i’ll look silly in them but i just adore their simple, boyish whimsy.
Hey Victoria,
In this post you managed to capture clothes that I like and would actually wear (and can kind of afford) better than anyone else ever has! I love the idea of a uniform, and I hate how people are always saying to switch it up and wear this, no wear that. I really love the uniform concept and like you I am always the girl wearing jeans…Oh and the tunic dress! And the sparkly jacket! Must. Buy. :)
All the best!

love the Chan Luu ;)
i crave it all! great finds and so inspirational.
Where can I get the shoes in the 3rd photo?
I LOVE THEM!!!
This was one of the best fashion posts I have seen in a long time. I love Uniform Natural. Thanks for the inspiration. I am in leggings/blogging/booties mode and need a good fashion kick in the rear.
tina – those are martha from uniform natural’s oxfords – i’m not sure where she got them!
thanks so much! i’m glad you like these picks. it was fun to put this together!
okay, now i’m bummed! the stripped beanie sold out. did you guys do that before i could order one??? ;)
wow- great picks. Thanks for turning me on to Uniform Natural. So inspiring. One of my 2011 goals is to have less clothes, but better made… in neutral colors.
Well I stopped in my tracks when I read about the try at home option for these fab glasses “Warby Parker”.
I went and ordered 5 pairs to try on.
Classic line with a good twist!!
