vintage finds for a modern world: kitchen accoutrement.

i love a well-stocked kitchen, especially one stocked with vintage-goodness. there’s nothing quite so homey. don’t get me wrong, i’m definitely keepin’ my cuisinart, but i love the look and feel of gadgets and accessories from an older era. since homemade seems to have made a huge comeback, i think the things they were originally made with should come back too. here’s some lovelies from a copenhagen kitchen designed by stylist Katrine Martensen-Larsen and photographed beautifully by Stuart McIntyre.

Oh Wow! I have had the long view of this kitchen saved for a couple of years as a favorite but I had never actually seen the rest of it. The mini is so cool. I would love to have a room big enough to do that.

I’d take the Mini and the fridge on any given day! I bet the food would taste better, too :)

  13. I adore this kitchen… seriously smitten. Such a treat to look at and so much space to work with. Hoping for a retro-inspired fridge one day!

  14. My boys would die on the spot if they saw a mini hanging on the wall in the kitchen! I would be right next to them after seeing that fridge! We actually found at apartment w/ a smeg fridge and immediately tried to get the apartment, but apparently someone beat us to it. Sigh… one day I will have a smeg fridge!

around christmas time i use my old meat grinder to make shortbread cookies … its a family tradition and i got mine as a present from my grandma. the rest of the year it’s just a good looking kitchen-accessory and waiting for its chance to work again …
