get this look: elle decor.

elle decor has a new editor, michael boodro, and the new issue will share inspiration primarily influenced by michael’s vision. the april issue of elle decor is all about international design, including this gorgeous home in Bahia, Brazil, filled with art and colorful collectibles, shot by photographer simon upton.

get the look with a beautiful throw blanket, and ships in a bottle, both from topsy design; pretty seashells from 2 bored bunnies; and vintage rattan high back chair from rhapsody attic; and a Antique Uzbek Suzani Tapestry from bukhara.

the home is elegant, but relaxed, and elle decor also shares how simple poster art can create a wall that really draws you in visually, but doesn’t have to be curated from Sotheby’s, or in other words, is affordable! here’s a few of my ideas on how to get their gallery look.

get the look and create your own gallery with some of these prints: la lune from double merrick; vintage puget sound print from holcroft; bild ikea print; original ship painting by lisa congdon; sea salt society by tim lahan via grain edit; kari orvik at the beholder; vintage ship vessel print from hindsvik; and vintage letter ‘a’ from ladies day out.

get the look of this sort of nautical plantation house, filled with exotic worldly travel collections with a fish box from jonathan adler; vintage suzani pillows from jayson home & garden; urban outfitter’s free trade pouf; pottery barn rattan desk; suzani bedspread from table tonic; ship model from dreaming of vintage; blue & white vintage ginger jar from rhapsody attic.

  1. I somehow feel the need to haul out everything I own, paint everything standing floor to ceiling ‘Studio White’ and then welcome all my treasures back in.

    Cheers!

The row of colorful flip flops is such a nice touch – conveys casual at the same time it adds a colorful beachy feel. Cheap/cool/practical decorating idea!
