i spy: passionate pink.

domino.

there’s something very passionate about pink. it’s the color of love, a shade slightly lighter than red, perhaps symbolizing the more feminine side of the passion equation. pink can be tranquil, and yet kind of exotic, too. this week, i spy the power of pink.

Demoiselle Libellule and sweetjessie.

vintage kantha throw from the gilt groupe; antique velvet photo album via sadie olive; rosy pink & red ikat & batik throw pillows; prettiest doormat i’ve seen in a while, from india rose; and leather pouf from eden & eden.

fabulous over-dyed carpets via decor8; and i’ve been swooning over this hot pink Turkish Antique Kilim Rug from sukan.

romantic velvet sofa from the pages of rue; vintage needlepoint pillow; and chris court photography.

anthropologie’s pretty saraband scarf; mixed media shag rug from urban outfitters; john robshaw Kashmir Decorative Pillow; cartolina’s bouquet print; and anthropologie’s radient pink votive.

vintage sofa via light locations; and love the idea of all these votives, via emma’s design blog.

pretty pink vase via rue; and a simply stunning murano glass pendant lamp from paris hotel boutique.

beautiful and exotic looking wallpaper via lonny.

Hi does anyone know what to call the wooden platform seating. I would love one but have no idea how to identify it. Thanks everyone?

Also to Diana: It is just that- platform seating/daybed. This one looks like it was homemade. Also to SFGirl, I forgot to mention that every photo you chose, is always so full of light. They are my morning pick me up. Who needs coffee? ;-)

Love the artwork in image#1.. would love to know what it is… might the platform bed be called a “diwan” ( or divan) ?

Does anyone know a good place to find a lovely pink/rose sofa– the only thing i can find is 8,000 dollars?! ps– gorgeous article…

  18. victoria says:

tiffany, room & board has well-made and fairly affordable sofas, which can be ordered in a huge array of fabrics and colors, in the $1500 – $3000 range – i would check them out:

  19. I have just spent 2 weeks in the States – LA and NYC and the options are endless! I was quite overwhelmed by the choice and felt like a bit of a country bumkin! There is so much and it is mostly gorgeous, so every time I see your blog, I get so inspired and then remember that it is not available in my beloved South Africa! Super frustrating, but I absolutely love your blog, it keeps me nicely updated and inspired until the next trip! thank you

  20. Great pictures even though I’m not the biggest fan of pink. Inspiring. Thanks:)
