I LOVE this shop! I’m from Toronto and I stumbled on it when I was out on the west side of the city a couple weeks ago. It’s awesome to see a local name featured on this blog, which by the way my friends and I read regularly! :)

Bookhou is great! And I love seeing their home. I have a few items from them – the house bookends, the jigsaw cut alphabet, and a cloth basket. Wonderful store!

I am in Vancouver since August and miss Toronto shops like Bookhou!

I was lucky enough to meet Arounna this past summer when attending a workshop she hosted in her Toronto shop for the wonderful Mexican artist Geninne. I met her again in Montreal with my daughters when she had a booth at a craft show here. We love her. My teenage daughters and I own so many things made by Bookhou now. We fight good-naturedly over anything new from Arounna and John that arrives in our house. Simplicity, elegance, love–those are the first three words that occur to me if I was asked to describe their products.

What a treat to finally get a peek inside their family home. It certainly doesn’t disappoint! I am using one of Arounna’s beautiful purses right now and just today wrote down her website for two strangers who stopped me on the street to ask me about it. On top of being a great designer, she’s a wonderful person as well. Kudos to Bookhou!

So good to have a peak into their home. Have Bookhou tea towels which makes dish drying a joy! Also coveting their bags…
    Thanks for sharing Victoria.

Bravo to Covet Garden and Bookhou! I have been a fan of Bookhou for a few years now and am always inspired by Arounna’s simple but lovely textiles and John’s gorgeous wood furniture and designs.

I’ve always been moved by the quiet but strong presence that Arounna seems to exude! She, and John create such stunning work, have been featured and honored many times, yet this lovely family always appear humble and so grounded in what is most important to them which seems to be family and living creatively.

    Thank you Victoria for sharing.

    Warmly,
    Tania Welch
