gold digger.

i used to kinda hate gold. okay, maybe that’s a bit strong, but i certainly didn’t favor it over silver, or wear it in any shape or form, nor did i exhibit in my home, anywhere, anyhow. but i started looking around and i realized i have a lot more gold going on than i would have ever imagined. when i was in salt lake city for alt summit, i scored this little thrifted clutch – 50ยข, people. i kid you not.

the bracelet? i get a lot of compliments on this thing, and it was on sale at anthropologie a while back. i pretty much wear it everywhere these days, although it makes quite a bit of racket. i noticed even some of my favorite books glimmer with gold — one of my best finds was marilyn monroe’s the last sitting, by bert stern. i love this book. and my other favorite, creative pictures, a gift from good friends. so now, it would appear, i’m a gold digger. yep, i dig gold.

Oh, i love the Marilyn Monroe book. the bracelet is beautiful, and eventhough I used to be more a fan of silver, im starting to see the beauty in gold as well :) maybe its coming with the age :)
I used to not really like gold either and then I discovered more muted shades that were much more my style. I don’t like ‘shiny’ gold! Lovely clutch, what a bargain!
I wish you could give a photography class and I wish I could take it (not likely since I live in New Jersey). I’m really impressed with your photography.
well, thank you anyway, susan! i’m still learning!
you’s a gold diggga! nice finds.
Totally off topic, but is that Lucy I see on the cover of Serena and Lily? What a great shot!
it is indeed lucy! that was taken by photographer laurie frankel. :)
Hells yes. I loveeeee gold. But I love rose gold even more!
love love love the clutch!
That clutch is stunning. Must be one of the best thrifting finds ever.
And I agree with Susan – your photography is just so good. Love all the shots you take in your apartment.

I used to prefer silver, but like gold better these days. I think it suits my skin tone a lot better (in the case of jewellery, anyway)
Ha! I *loved* that bracelet on you at West Elm – until you said the dreaded ‘A’ word… (I jest. I love them. I mean hate them. I mean Iove… ) As a lifelong vintage *freak*, I’m always conflicted/traumatized by good copies.
And – me too, on the gold/silver thing. (Is it generational?) As a creative sort, I couldn’t *touch* gold for most of my life — ewww. It was – not fashionable. Now it’s almost all I wear – albeit in knocked-down, warm, brass form. Brass is the new gold!
And (of course) even your casual pics are chic and stunning. The best.
