meet parson gray.
Some of you may know textile designer Amy Butler’s husband David as the man behind her photography and graphic design. Some of you may know him as the singer in the band Black Owls. Well now he’s joining Amy as fabric designer! Parson Gray is his new brand, and Curious Nature is the name of his first collection of quilting/fashion and home décor fabrics for Westminster/FreeSpirit.
I love the richly muted palettes and organic, geometric prints. The Curious Nature collection is his folk modern interpretation of natural elements weaving together a balance of hand-drawn patterns inspired by Japanese indigo and mid-century fine art. I think you’ll find it very “guy-friendly” and that’s a big part of what David is up to with this collection, something for men and women alike!
the new fabric is available at hawthorne threads, and you can have a sneak peek at the entire line on David Butler’s newly launched website, and check out his new line of ipad and iphone skins available now. Masculine yes, but feminine, too!
And there’s a fun bonus from David… Click Here to download a free copy of Julias Morningstar by his band Black Owls! They are featured in this month’s Classic Rock Magazine out of the UK, and yep, it’s David singing and drumming on this track.
