excuse me, may i have a light?

besides my addiction for chairs of all shapes, sizes and eras, i now seem to have developed a bit of a thing for lamps, lighting, pendants, and fixtures of all kinds. oh dear. where to put them all? what to light up next? it’s problematic, really, but they just make so many interesting lighting options these days. from schoolhouse electric, to patrick townsend, to brendan ravenhill – and not to mention all the vintage fixtures from the 50′s and 60′s that i just adore. here’s a few fun ones — i’m gonna try and get you hooked, too. consider me your lighting pusher girl.

i like the idea of this fun and unexpected table lamp in the kitchen, via piewacket.

i love a fancy-pants vintage chandelier mixed up with some mid-century modern decor, via lerkenfeldt photography.

i like the task lamp over the bed; the freestanding floor lamp for reading in that rad lounge chair; and of course i’m a big fan of the sprocket-style overhead pendant. all via the may issue of style at home.

how about this sweet little pink number? love this lamp via lerkenfeldt photography.

i quite like these schoolhouse industrial-looking pendants popping up everywhere with a colorful modern twist, via the may issue of style at home.

I love the vintage bed in the first picture.
Fun roundup! Love the little pink number and the photo in its entirety — looks like a minimalist, retro space, perhaps Don Draper’s if he didn’t have an interior decorator?
Wow! You’ve done a great job of enticing me in! A fantastic selection of lighting but I must say you have also hooked me with the furniture too! Love the chairs in the last shot, but I have to say the Sputnik is whackily awesome! I knew somebody years ago who had a light like this, very similar, from the 70′s I think!
i love all of these suggestions but where can I buy them (or like them?)
the post was mostly just for inspiration, but there is a link to some lighting shops in the top paragraph, and most are vintage. if you tell me which one more specifically, i can try and help you out. :)
Chairs and lighting are my biggest weaknesses! There is just not enough room in my apartment for all of the amazing ones out there. Thanks for the great post!

I love industrial looking task lamps! I have the perfect spot for that pink one…
I’m a wee bit obsessed with lighting these days, unfortunate since we’ve replaced every fixture in our house! Thanks for more lamp candy though! So funny, I posted Janis’ pic this morning too but there was no lamp in the corner…now you see it, now you don’t :)
I love lamps (in all of their variegated styles) as much as the next person – but I literally could not concentrate on anything in your post aside from that wonderfully, quirky gnome side table!

I, too, am a self-professed lamp tramp. I can’t help it if I have a zillion lamps in my house. That’s just how I roll.

Always loved the Sputnik chandelier! Such a fun throwback. And, you may love the pendant in the last photo, but for me it’s all about the orange wishbone chairs. Hot! Fun feature.
