I really think Midcentruy modern is just ME! I love all these pieces!

whereas I tend to like things a little scruffier and mish-mash than MCM, I have a weird love for red and blue together (likely sublimated Superman complex) so am enjoying the top pic. I mean I like grey and yellow and coral too, but REDANDBLUE.

I will be soooo excited when they are available online! I guess I better start saving my pennies!

  4. So people don’t care for midcentury modern, but I’m in love with it! I’m especially feeling the love for #5 and 9. Perfect.

Wait, are these actual vintage period pieces or are these merely new pieces with mid-century styling? More and more I’m confused by stores like HD and West Elm who release pieces they name or classify as mid-century but they’re only describing the fact that they copied or borrowed from the style, NOT that the items were actually produced then.

angel, these are clearly marked as reproduction mid-century pieces, or pieces styled with a mid-century look and feel. i think if you were to shop there, it would be completely clear. they’re not trying to disguise their pieces in any way.

Urban Outfitters now also has a bunch o’ brand new reproduction mid-century furniture for those unwilling to cull the GoodWill and thrift shops for the real stuff on the cheap or pay top dollar for the originals or primo repros like at Design Within Reach or Jonathan Adler.
(Urban has a dark wood cabinet called “The Draper” after you know who.)

Awesome. I cannot wait to shop there. I have some friends who only buy the original pieces and tend to look down on the newer items but to me the pricing is usually better. What an amazing sale! Time to sneak into the savings account!
