There are antique stores your grandmother shops at & then there is The Perish Trust. This sophisticated shop has a refined sense of nostalgia … stacked with the perfect balance of basement-found antiques & collectables from modern day artists. They are currently showcasing a selection of Jessica Niello‘s work — it’s quite the┬áspectacle. As if that isn’t enough, they are also the only showroom in San Francisco to carry the full collection of Warby Parker eyewear. Definitely a sight for soar eyes. Where do you visit to find those charming, one-of-a-kind objects?

There is shop very similar to this one on Valencia (around 22nd) with a retail space on ground level and interesting performances downstairs, it’s called Viracocha.

I’ve driven by the Perish Trust a hundred times and have always meant to stop in for a look. Thank you for sharing, I see so many great one-of-a-kind finds. I must go!

    Victoria,

This IS a beautifully curated store! I’m glad that you shared it. However, re: “antique stores your grandmother shops at…” I’ve found some of my favorite stuff in those gandma-y, initially-less-than-inspiring places. For me, it’s part of “the thrill of the hunt” to find something wonderful among things that are…well, let’s just say, not to everyone’s taste. It’s one of many reasons that I shop second-hand. The sublime is cheek-by-jowl with the ridiculous!
