THE JEALOUS CURATOR: ART GOES HERE.
hello! i’ve been reading all of victoria’s fab new babble posts, so i thought it might be time to put some art on these little walls:
it’s never too early to start your love for contemporary art, right? right! (*note: you may want to move the crib a foot or two away from the contemporary art though – sticky fingers love stunning work!)
ok, we all know that babies have a thing for bold colors and big shapes, so let’s start by hanging one of these gorgeous black, white, & pink paintings by brooklyn based artist fede saenz:
gorgeous! these just scream ‘brain development’.
so, i happen to know (thanks to a bunch of old, faded photos) that my nursery was covered in mustard yellow zoo animals. cute, but i think i would have preferred my wallpaper to be a little more ‘bespoke':
ahh, lovely! these are actually large scale wall treatments by frédéric bonnin and cécile figuette, owners of minakani, a paris based design studio that specializes in creating patterns for textiles used in fashion and home furnishings. yes, those peacocks are so much prettier than my mustard lions & giraffes! (ps. you have to see these animals in action! they’re really big, and oh so beautiful)
and finally, what would a nursery be without something cozy? these pieces, by miami based artist agustina woodgate, are meant to be hung on the wall, but i’d be quite tempted to pop them on the floor and have some cuddle time with my little one:
wondering what you’re looking at? you guessed it, thrift shop teddy bears that have seen better days. snip-snip stitch-stitch, and suddenly they have a new purpose in life! hm, maybe you shouldn’t tell your baby about this process – it might be a little too much to handle at this stage!
well, there you have it, a nursery full of contemporary art that both you, and your baby, can enjoy! see you in two weeks with more art on more walls ~ the jealous curator xo

The minakani animals are huge! And wonderful. Totally digging the contemporary art and the wall treatments.
Amazing!!! I love the idea of an adult painting in a nursery, especially an abstract one. She can take that with her in every stage of life! I’ve been on a hot pink painting kick, too. It’s just too much fun !
me too! seriously cannot get enough of the hot pink!
What a great post! This artwork is SO amazing. Wow. Really inspiring.. thanks for posting! Wouldn’t have found them otherwise!
oh good! so glad you found something you love amber :)
Where did you find your crib? Adorable!
Hi Holly : )
The crib is from a photo-shoot in a home in Denmark – here’s the link:
