tuesday’s girl: put a turban on it.

i’m in serious catch-up mode right now, after my sojourn away last week for work. no rest for the wicked, right? anyway, i have no idea why, but i keep seeing turbans everywhere i look. is it sign? do i need to wear one? do i need to wash my hair? probably! i dunno. but here you go. kinda wondering if i can get away with one of these. what about you?

vintage truman capote via the sartorialist even looks good in a turban; and classic Erykah Badu.

vintage vogue cover from condé nast; model Olesya Senchenko wears one well; as does grace kelly; and full jersey turban from urban outfitters;

this image from karla’s closet just makes me want to go on a long holiday somewhere warm!

lovely turban knot via Leilanni land.

  1. Turbans are as cool as a cucumber…until I try one. I just look like I’ve just got out of the shower! Maybe I should try some of these wonderful pics for inspiration :)

  2. The first one is a stunner! Yasmin so beautiul! And a sweater as a turban, with a DIY-looking brooch? Crazy cool! I’m rather sure that I myself wouldn’t want to wear turbans…

  3. This is so weird. I’ve actually been on the hunt for a good vintage one. What’s with the zeitgeist’s interest in turbans?

    I adore turbans. The first photo makes me immediately think of Little Edie Beale, and with the Drew Barrymore/Jessica Lange version of Grey Gardens, there’s a whole new generation of sweater turban wearing folk out there.

    Well I wear them every day :)
