good reads: INTERIORS.

New York-based photographer Martyn Thompson is a respected and prolific image maker with work that ranges from glam rock to images of his own avant-garde garments. it turned out Thompson’s images attracted more attention than the clothes themselves, launching a brand new career as a documenter of beautiful interiors and architecture.

Martyn Thompson has a mastery of natural light and his images are moody and sometimes surreal. his new book, interiors contains a selection of the some of the artists’ and designers’ homes Martyn Thompson has photographed over the years. a stunning collection of the homes of the most well-known figures in the design world, including Calvin Klein; interior designer Thomas O’Brien; fashion designer Francisco Costa; hotelier Sean MacPherson; and fashion designer Anna Sui; so interiors is a sneak-peak into the spaces of the style-makers. It is packed with the kind of aspirational interiors book people will reference time and time again, collecting ideas and inspiration for their own homes.

Great images, I could find myself in many of those spaces…
I always loved how the exposed pipes look on the walls and the ceiling, it gives it a nice industrial feel :)

LOVEing these interiors! Looks like a great book to check out. Love the mix of boho+industrial.
Lovely share! Thanks a lot for the wonderful page. Those arrangements are really beautiful.
She really does use light so well! Inspiring for interior design and also for photography!
So glad you posted this Victoria. I love Martyn’s work and have this book – it’s spectacular! I also own one of his photographs which are quite a departure from his commercial interior shots. He’s such a creative and inspiratinal force (and nice person). Check out his website if you’re interested.

Definitely a book worth having. Just these photos alone are inspiring, and since I recently decided to put all my new art purchases in frames and actually hang them, it’s cool to see how others are doing it. Thanks.
Lovely pics.
