oh, and happy, happy friday.

i love this photograph by artist JoAnn Verburg. doesn’t it just epitomize a leisurely sunday? no where to be, the paper, quiet. i won’t be having that kind of sunday, but i’ll be happy nonetheless. it’s the alameda flea market and i’ll be up bright and early and off on the hunt. i’ll let you know what treasure i find. have a good weekend y’all.

Thank for this info, Victoria! I was just searching for flea markets near SF. :)

  2. Such a great picture. Man, am I missing NYC right now. You can take the boy out of the city (and stick him on a giant rock called the Big Island), but you can’t take the city out of the boy.

  3. Hitting up the flea markets sounds like so much fun to me! I wish we had one here…

every friday i anxiously await this post just to see if the “happy happy friday” tag line has been replaced by the “welcome to the weekend” tag you mentioned back after your reader survey. it’s kind of silly that the thought of a little switch like that makes me so giddy :)

If you look more closely at the issue of The New York Times that Verburg’s husband Jim is reading, you’ll notice that it features articles about the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center.

oh, i see that might be the case. it’s called WTC, 2003, Chromogenic color print. 40 x 28-1/4″, © 2007 JoAnn Verburg. so i didn’t think about the dates. puts a different spin on it, sadly.
