hello, si from the french by design blog here for a new i could live here tour. today, we’re heading to lyon, france to visit a big and impressive 18th century flat remodeled to fit a modern family.
helen is a decorator. she fell in love with this impressive apartment located in the heart of the city of lyon, france. what attracted her, apart from the very central city location, was the extraordinary natural light inundating the flat. the “old museum” feeling of this 18th century apartment did not seduce her a bit. blending epochs, materials and sources of inspiration, helen re-shaped the flat as a relaxed country style, easy to live in apartment for her large modern family.

Gorgeous! (Although unlike the others, I was not enamored with the kitchen. To me, it looks like an office kitchen.) The rest is astounding, though.
Love the mix of old world & modern – those high ceiliings and light-filled rooms would be easy to live with indeed! While I love the look of the kitchen the white stools (buckets?) look remarkably uncomfortable. I want the painting of the man under the library stairs too.

Nice place but what really got my attention was the collection of big gorgeous pottery in the dining room space! Any source?
Bonjour Bérangère, the potteries come from Maison Hand in Lyon.
