so, i think i’m moving. no, not really — but when i saw this home i wanted to. just look at this colorfully eclectic place, isn’t it dreamy? all that natural light and space. in my dreams, i live here — i imagined that this lovely bohemian home exists tucked away in a narrow hilltop road in old hollywood — los feliz to be precise. it looks funky and kinda california cool, but with some mid-century modern lines, common in that neck of woods. shall we inhabit this place? let’s see what it’s like to live in hillside home overgrown with bougainvillea and neighbors who might drop by for a cool gin & tonic on a hot summer night.
the home will be a mix of vintage modern heirlooms passed down from grandparents and flea market finds, with some classic collectible mid-century modern chairs and moroccan textiles with pretty throws brought home from travels afar.
there’ll be a steady stream of sunday night communal meals around the big kitchen table including lots of friends and family, with the french doors flung wide open to let in the breeze, and allow the laughter to ramble through the hills. and we’ll always be listening to vinyl on the hi-fi.
the kitchen will have custom-built open shelving displaying all our vintage collectibles and our herriott grace wooden spoons. we’ll shop the old fairfax farmer’s market for our evening’s ingredients, and pick fragrant roses from our garden. i can just tell, this is the perfect place for casual california entertaining. cheers!

i just ‘made up’ this house, so a real yard doesn’t exist. i guess i should have made up a backyard, too! :)

Los Feliz is not particularly bucolic… you’re probably thinking of Laurel Canyon or the Hollywood Hills east of the 101 (The Dell, Beachwood, etc.). At any rate I’ll raise my own tall, cool G&T in your direction. Cheers!
