wit and whimsy.

in Bredasdorp, a town in the Southern Overberg region of the Western Cape of South Africa resides this colorful and eclectic little holiday home belonging to artist Conrad Botes and his wife Jeanne, House and Leisure’s decor editor. Jeanne spends her days (and many a night) conceptualizing, sourcing and styling shoots for the magazine, and yet she’s found reserves of creative energy for the ‘ongoing project’ of decorating this charming Bredasdorp space that’s as effortlessly cosy as it is artfully styled with artwork by conrad, and many family friends. much of the furniture is handmade by conrad, as well — upcycling old pieces found at flea markets and giving them new life. for the whole story on this witty and whimsical space, visit house and lesiure magazine.
