my recent trip to sweden really inspired my desire to get out of my black on black on black ways. for years my mum has asked me, “are you in mourning, or something?”. ummm, no, however i do like wearing black. but in stockholm, women were wearing black, but with big, bold pops of color. i liked it! i’ll admit it, mum! so, i checked out nordstrom rack to hunt down some affordable accoutrement to accent my existing basic black wardrobe, and i found some pretty great prints and patterns. this is gonna be a change for me, but i’m going to try it. i’m going to embrace my inner stylish stockholm girl. let’s see what happens.
i found this amazing scarf by leigh & luca, some super soft and scandinavian inspired black & white le gale socks and paired them with my pink clutch and a heather gray and white striped sweater by philosphy. then, i mixed up the same scarf with a black & white polka-dotted blouse by kate spade, and this great little nic + zoe schoolboy blazer in hot pink with white trim and cute black buttons. voilá – instant mix and matched, print and pattern!
next up, i paired this cute black, pink and gray striped knit tunic dress by eliza j with some hue black, gray and pink argyle tights — i’ve gone mad with pattern! but i’m game to try it and brighten up my usual gray days! look out winter, you’re gonna see me comin’!
