all roads lead to rome.
well dear readers, as i mentioned on friday, i am finally home — jet lagged, happy and reliving fond memories of an amazing holiday in italy and beyond. first was stockholm, then amsterdam, and here is roma, with venice highlights soon to follow. in each destination i stayed in an airbnb apartment — something i’ve been doing since my trip to paris a couple of years ago. i’ve always rented homes over hotels — i love the freedom i feel with a home, with comfy space to stretch out in and pretend, if just for a little while, like i’m living as a local. i like to shop farmer’s markets like the one in campo de’ fiore near our apartment and after a long day of adventuring, come back to a place that i can genuinely relax in, cook a meal and even entertain with friends. rome was no different. we found this great airbnb space in rome, and one look at the terrace and the view had us at ‘ciao’! naturally, we had to mix up a few appetizers and a batch of italian aperol spritz to toast our temporary home away from home — buon appetito! oh, and i’ve included the recipe for you — here’s to rome!
