THE-WES-ANDERSON-COLLECTION

as most of you know, i am possibly the numero uno Wes Anderson fan. we’re getting married one day, he just doesn’t know it. but i think wes would get me and my quirky ways like nobody else will, so it should just happen pretty organically. once he meets me. anyways — as happens with me when discussing my future husband, i digress. there’s a new book out that is all about my charming wes — The Wes Anderson Collection! the heart of the book is a long interview with wes, his filmography and a guided tour through a true artist’s mind. it’s written by New York Magazine TV critic Matt Zoller Seitz, who shares a behind the scenes look into all of wes anderson’s films, including the royal tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom to name a few — as well as his life and career, including unpublished photos, and artwork. too bad we’re not on our honeymoon yet, or those pics might be included in the book, too! i ordered it anyway, and volume two should probably include us for sure. just you wait. oh, and by the way, wes wanted me to let you know — he’s hard a work on a new film, the grand budapest hotel. more on that soon.

  1. Thanks for sharing this, Victoria! I’m a fan of Wes Anderson too, though, you might get top-billing as “Fan Numero Uno”.

And I’m surprised at how inexpensive the book is! I expected it to be priced closer to $75 or $100. (But…$40? Really?) What an awesome value!

Uh Victoria I think you may be confused – because Wes has already agreed to marry me.
anyways – the book is awesome!

i’m such a huge fan of his too. So much so that i have to give a shoutout to “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” – a slightly meandering film of his that somehow doesn’t get much attention either when it came out or now. Great actors, great ideas about family, attachments, passion and popular culture, some great jokes, and beautiful cinematography. And David Bowie songs by Seau Jorge in Portuguese?! The icing on the cake!

oh have to add, it goes without saying that The Life Aquatic has ouststanding art direction/production design.

  6. *Sigh* Isn’t Wes the greatest?

  7. Love. Love. Love. I remember watching Bottlerocket when it came out.
