making my holidays personal.
wow. where did our year go? as thanksgiving approaches i’m trying to do my best this holiday season to get things done early, instead of my usual operation panic mode. i’m making my lists and i’m checking them twice. a couple of things at the top of my list this year are to give unique presents and to get personal holiday cards out to close friends and family — not an email, but an actual card. it’s always in the back of my mind and then christmas sneaks up and i haven’t gotten my cards done in time. double drat! so this year i started insanely early and made a card using zazzle — an easy and totally affordable way to make all kinds of unique gifts and personalized cards. i had some beautiful photos of lucy that i was lucky to have had sharon montrose photograph, and i’d never done enough with them, so i created this pretty darn cute card using sharon’s montage of lucy.
i even went and added a little more oompf! one more personal touch by creating a liner for the holiday envelope — some pretty wrapping paper, pinking shears and a glue stick did the trick. add a little washi tape seal on the back of the envelope and boom! done and done. here’s to a less hectic holiday season — i hope you get a jump on your to-do list soon, too!
