good reads: the living book.

MANTEL

Welcome to a wonderful Scandinavian-inspired home in belgium. it’s the home of the House Martin’s shop owner — a charming home decor and accessories shop in the city of ghent. it appears in Living Blog’s new book, Living Book by Tom Cole and Britt Sebrechts. i am desperately trying to get my hands on this book but so far, i think it can only be found in european cities as it just launched in october. but if this is an example of the homes featured in their book, I’d love to add it to my collection. This bright and somewhat whimsical interior is just one of the 15 interiors featured in the Living Book along with 20 DIY projects, as well as some of the Living Blog’s favorite interior shops in Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels, and Amsterdam — some of the best shopping for home decor i’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing on my limited travels abroad.

Huiszwaluw is one of the greatest shops in Ghent, truly a must-visit!

Does anyone know the brand of the desk/shelf system? I’m guessing it’s something available only in Europe, but one can hope.

Lovely! Where can one get nice quality rag rugs like those in the library?

This is gorgeous. I love how clean and crisp it looks.
I also am totally envious of that oven.

I could send you one, if you like. I’m going to the Huiszwaluw shop this week anyway, so it wouldn’t be any trouble at all.

I love all the white with the shabby chic construction. The perfect amount of balanced warmth. My favorite piece, aside from the awesome stove, is the rattan desk chair – love that.
