Edible Rooms

hello! gab from The Artful Desperado here. wow, can you believe it? we’re just a few weeks away from the end of the year! the holidays are in full swing and so are the cocktails.

for this edition of edible rooms i selected something that’s would be a little bit different from the usual holiday stuff. we all love the cheerful colours of the season, but sometimes is nice to add a little bit of darkness to the mix, no? i guess that’s us design lovers being “naughty”. also, this home reminds me of one of my favorite shows: american horror story – coven. i think these interiors paired up with a gloomy espresso martini would be perfect. dark glam and cocktails? let’s do it!

espresso martini

– 1.5 oz (1 shot) of coffee liqueur
– 1 oz vodka
– 1 oz freshly brewed espresso (use good coffee beans!)

make it:

– add ice to a shaker, pour all ingredients, shake shake shake
– serve and garnish with a few coffee beans or even better; a chocolate covered coffee bean.

note: if you want you can do a few variations of this cocktail by mixing in a splash of chocolate liqueur (creme de cacao) or substitute the coffee liqueur for baileys, which would make a creamier martini.

this cocktail gets bonus points for helping you stay awake while feasting away with family and friends! (or while listening to your aunt’s sick cat story for the 50th time).

enjoy friends and happy holidays! hugs from canada, The Artful Desperado

I would say this looks pretty much like perfection! The room is beautiful and I’d love to have one of these martinis. Last time I tried one it was on New Year’s eve after I’d had something called Purple Haze…not pretty, ha!
