sunday in the city.

this weekend i finally ventured out to temescal alley. i’m kind of ashamed i’ve not made it out here before, and going there made me realize there’s so much more to explore in the east bay, and i need to spend more time there. temescal alley is adorable with sweet little shops like crimson horticultural and rarities, where i picked up some great little air plants. there’s beautiful book shop, and esqueleto which is just so lovely and filled with baubles i could have so easily adorned myself with (i did pick up a great pillow!). we wandered around the corner to bakesale betty’s to try one of their amazing fried chicken sandwiches (there’s nothing else on the menu) and ate them al fresco at one of her signature ironing boards along telegraph avenue. oh, and then those freakin’ donuts at donut dolly. seriously the very best donut that has ever crossed these lips. wow. such a great little neighborhood to explore — do check it out when you have the chance.

  1. what a fantastic place to getaway for the afternoon!

  2. What a cool little pocket. I need to do a better job of getting out of the city and exploring the east bay as well.

  3. Ooh, that plant shop looks like such a treat! Glad it’s so far away from me, though. My plant-buying is veering in the out-of-control direction.
