studio spaces: nest pretty things.
i received a very sweet email from jewelry designer tamar Schechner of nest pretty things recently, sharing her new studio space, which i am in serious envy of. i want a studio space! it was not an easy decision for tamar, after working from home (i.e a corner of their dining room) for the last 7 years because she’d grown so used to the easiness of it all, but in reality her business had outgrown the little corner, so she and her husband ronen found a wonderful space in Burlington, vermont called The Karma Birdhouse. i love the name!
it’s a studio in a beautiful old industrial building with Maglianero Cafe on the ground floor and a great collection of communal lounge spaces including a fully equipped kitchen, a gallery and a conference room with a killer view of the lake nearby. The studio itself is not very big but so much more spacious then what they had at home — everything has its place and it’s got tons of beautiful white light with enormous windows and 15ft ceilings — not to mention that great exposed brick wall.
and just as lovely, moving into the studio allowed tamar to do a little redecorating at home — their kitchen and dining room got a makeover, too. here’s a little peek at both the studio and the home makeover. you can check out tamar’s nest pretty things shop on etsy, and follow along on her blog right here. thanks so much for sharing, tamar!
